Mexico City, Mexico, Mar. 1 (UPI) -- With the peak season for illegal border crossings looming in the next few months, both Mexico and the United States are gearing up for thousands of inevitable confrontations between Mexicans who will attempt the treacherous journey through the Arizona desert and the American border patrol and immigration authorities on the other side.

But so what, all he's really achieved is to cause a large percentage of Freepers to actively dislike him.

I'm making an effort to actively ignore their incessant yapping instead. It conserves energy.

It is too late for that, we have already lost the southwest and our leader will do NOTHING, any citizen that attempts to protect his or his neigbors property will be jailed or worse. The game is over and we lost.

I really doubt anything short of an "Act Of War" will draw any attention from Washington on this matter.

I am beyond caring if it comes to that. Washington is just asking for someone else to take care of the problem by dismissing the situation altogether.

We need to stop this non-sense.

Ground based radar, FLIR and a few patrols should make a HUGE difference. Don't just hand them over. Lock them up for a few days in a Pen and let them feel some real pain. This will discourage others.

We are to blame for this mess. We don't truly try to seal up the boarder (Play political games and although I'm a fan of Bush, he's no good guy in this respect) and are to soft with those we catch.

No kidding - as we pull our forces some more out of Europe we could reposition them along the boarder (Bliss and elsewhere) with the intent of using them to a limited capacity for boarder patols (When possible).

We need to increase the pressure on Mexico to help. They are economically dependent upon us, not vice versa. They blew their wad in the UN and tried to blackmail us on the security council by bringing the boarder issue into it, reference Iraq 2002. It's payday. Why are we such whimps with Mexico?

"You would think Vicente Fox and his worthless government would be embarrased that their people are trying to flee Mexico in droves."

One would think that, but the powers that be in Mexico are too busy counting the money sent back from the US by their peasants. In fact Fox calls them heros.

LOL! A most excellent (and astute) observation, wardaddy!

"In the HBO series Deadwood last year which I am now renting, there is the scene where Hickock played by Keith Carradine describes in detail to Jack McCall's face...the sniveling whiner who later shoots him in the back....that he has a mouth that when he runs it ...it reminds him of a certain metaphor or analogy.....a very vulgar but apt comparison using provacative terms more commonly used in those days....

I feel that same metaphor however archaic is appropriate for when the FROBLs get on their high horse flapping their self percieved morally superior pieholes."

Intriguing movie review, WD ;-)

I've gotta rent that puppy out...

Exactly so.

Your comparison of the FROBLs (or as I prefer to label them, the SOILs) to the sniveling whiner of Deadwood could not be more apt. But the one characteristic shared by all of the SOILs (Soft On Illegals Lobby) is the utter contempt they have for the concepts of sovereignty and the preservation of our culture, customs and traditions. Incredibly, most of them do not see this problem as a serious threat to national security.

Much like the "blame America first" crowd, the SOILs by their comments and attitudes, place America last (and "economics" first). Rather than defend American sovereignty, they prefer to hide behind the notion that the flawed Bush "guestworker" proposal and its defacto amnesty will magically solve the illegal alien problem. I look at it as being more like a mass presidential pardon.

Wasn't it one of the Clinton butt boys that said something like "Stroke of the pen--law of the land"?

The [invading Mexican] Mara Salvatruchas are known to cut the "testicles" of their enemies and feed them to their vicious dogs. Other times they have cut the heads off their opponents to play football soccer with them. These are not people to mess around with.

"With friends like Mexico, who needs radical islamists? Is it too early to throw in the towel or what?"

Thanks for the info and link, EB. It's mind-blowing.

The ONLY ones who've "thrown in the towel" AND played "ostrich" is the Bush Administration.

This is negligence to the nth degree.

We've come a long way since "Poncho and Lefty."

"All the Federales, they say
We could have had him any day
They only let him go so-o long
Out of kindness I suppose"

Just too kind, I suppose.

Awww, lol. I don't believe we females should be presidents anyway.

Besides, I am quite satisfied -- flattered even -- at the reactions I do get. ; )
