You make a good point.
I just don't think euphoria is warranted and I don't think there should be delusions of a grand vision sweeping the ME.
Nonsense. You post anti-Bush drivel non-stop, even when it sounds ludicrous. What President Bush did in his State of the Union speech in saying that the U.S. would support those who rose up for their own freedom, and what he did by pulling the U.S. Ambassador to Syria, are things beyond your anti-Bush comprehension.
Freedom is on the march thanks to President Bush, and that fact pisses you off. You hate Bush so much that you'd wish for lifetimes of tyranny on entire peoples (e.g. Lebanon) if it would just make Bush look bad for a single day.
You are pathetic.
I agree it isn't going to happen without bloodshed and tears and sweat and years, but people want freedom, and its nice to see them standing up to those, in their own country, who have held them under thumb for so long.
The euphoria is because we see these people throwing off the chains, and we are excited for them. THEY are doing it.
Beirut, it is time to fill your bathtubs again. I will pray for you.
