I hate to rain on everyones parade, but Hezbollah is NOT going to take this lying down

That's what I told my son. They will have to take care of them to be truly free.

Ironically, it was Iraq that caused this domino effect : most of the Arab world preferred to pretend Afghanistan doesn't exist. So if not for Bush's "unilateralism", we wouldn't be seeing this.

I wonder what insults Democrat politicians will throw at the incoming PM of Lebanon after the elections happen?

Allawi = Bush puppet -- Kerry

Jaafari = Iranian agent -- Her Clintoness

Incoming Lebonese PM = .....

Stay tuned, folks

Lebanon's President Emile Lahoud accepted the resignation of the government and asked it to continue in a caretaker capacity, a statement said.

what is the contingency option here, if Syria sends a military force into Lebanon to suppress this? Do we counter attack with US forces?

Syria says they plan to withdraw...hixbollah has been quiet.....they are in their planning room.

Clean up? He looks hot like that!

Yes, indeed he does. I'm just a bit old for the long hair, and I am very jealous of those who are not...too old that is.

I find it amusing that the Left has a fascination with what we demand: a constitutional government

Thanks...but I must admit, my question was meant rhetorically.. I figured that anytime one writes "French" or "Chirac" the sarcasm is self-evident..(g)..<P
Notwithstanding..if you do come up with anything, kindly ping me. I'd be surprised if you did, however, until tomorrow..it's after 6PM in France, and the government has all gone home..

I completely agree with you. It's funny that he's been saying exactly the same thing for years now, as true visionaries do, yet the left remains surprised at his articulation of the "new" Bush Doctrine.

"And to the Iranian people, I say tonight: As you stand for your own liberty, America stands with you."

The Lebanese were reading between the lines. :')

So if he added something to the Axis...

Just admit you are wrong. It's OK to admit you're wrong, you'll be better off in the long run. My respect for you might even grow for doing so.

Bray, thanks for your great essay/reply!

"We are seeing sparks spreading across the tinderbox of Persia. Of all people, the PLO and Hezbola have seen the light as well as the peoples of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Lebanon. While these fires begin to burn bright in Beirut we will see the sparks ignite into flames in these Countries as well as Iran and move around the World to the slave fields of China, Cuba and Korea. Once people understand that Freedom can happen in Countries like Russia, Afghanistan and Iraq, they will realize that Dictators are actually Sand Castles standing against an Ocean. They cannot quench the thirst for Freedom with threats or terror any longer."

"President Bush has become one of the Great Visionaries of history. Just as the invisible hand of Capitalism is the most efficient form of economics, so too is the invisible hand of Freedom and Democracy. This hand will expose and capture the Terrorists around the World great and small. People will throw off their shackles of fear and follow the model of Afghanistan and Iraq to fan the white hot flames of Liberty. As America and her friends fuel these flames, millions will be freed from their oppression and take back ownership of their lands. As this Wildfire spreads throughout the World, despots cower in fear as they wait for their ultimate demise at the hands of God’s servant leader, the Freedom President George W Bush."

"Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighting Troops!"

I hate to rain on everyones parade, but Hezbollah is NOT going to take this lying down. I hope I'm wrong and I the freedom-loving citizens of Lebanon don't put up with them.

Yep...next act will be the thuggery trying to regain control....then what....?

Waving large red and white Lebanese flags and shouting "Syria out!" protesters descended on Martyrs' Square where Hariri is buried.

Coop... is that how it is now? He "added" Syria to the axis, after his other speeches where they weren't a part of it? Well then, adding them in 2002 must mean that they still aren't a part of the AoE since he didn't mention them in a PREVIOUS SoTU address. Ok, we get it... You aren't man enough to admit you are wrong. No loss to be, because either way, Syria is part of the AoE. Learn to accept it.

Finally Fox is moving back to the news now.

I guess the use of symbolic language is sometimes challenging for concrete thinkers.
