See post 71 for who attended.

I wish I knew every face, and every name,
but that's what makes this so special.

You may not know the freeper next to you,
But, everyone who is there,
is there to celebrate freedom.

It looked a little iffy early in the morning RonDog, but it appears things turned out great. Did the Oscars' employee follow through by helping you position on the corner, or did he flake out?

Way to go. I'm impressed.

Great report!

It's so nice to "see" the freep from everyones personal
birds-eye-view - plus learn about all the unseen efforts that started and ended the event.

I loved your BUSH sign, by the way.

I could tell it took a lot
of hard work.

Just as an fyi, Cowboy_code was singing dougfromupland's song, "Hooray for Hollywood" during the freep around the corner from the main group....

Gotta couple chuckles from that.....

"They suck in Hollywood... we’ve really heard enough from Hollywood ...."

THANKS, your efforts multiplied our presence. When some people say "Here's Your Sign" it's OK with me!

(And when that famous comedian says "Here's Your Sign" he's not talking about FReepers....)

"The purple chosen for the rubber fingers and the foam fingers was pretty dark. Something closer to lavender would have looked less like black." I agree with what you've said, and everyone at the rally yesterday welcomes (and is thankful for) all the good input from everyone. One of the terrible beauties of these types of events is all the human imperfections that go along with them. Usually, a lot of things don't go right so the best we can do is do the best we can at the time, and just roll with what we've got. No matter how much planning goes into these kind of events these rallys are still kind of a dynamic process that unfold before the event's creators as the event is happening. I'm not trying to make excuses for not doing the best we can, just pointing out how putting on a even a moderately flawless protest is a lot like shooting at a moving target. Here's just one example from yesterday's protest: At one point RonDog, or someone, said, "Hey, we should paint Bush's finger purple on the sign that says, "...and the winner is." My response to that was, "Cool," "Go for it." Later, when I saw the purple finger, it did look kind of dark, and my response then was, "He looks like an amputee. They should have only painted half of his finger purple." The truth of the matter is, it really looked good either way. I take comfort in knowing that any obfuscation, or over complicating, of our true meaning only befuddled the Hollywood "intellects" even more - if that is possible. People have so many different perceptions in their ideas, and responses to ideas, that it is truly miraculous we come to as much consensus and understanding as we do. It is impossible to come up with the perfect protest, but as in the words of the old Beatles song, "if we try real hard we just might get what we need." We truly do have a lot of common ground in our group of Freepers. Although it is absolutely necessary to have good planning and feedback, at some point we reach a critical point were we attain "paralysis by analysis," if we plan too much. Even worse, it stops being fun. We rolled out the Freepers and we rocked Hollywood, and with all the great input from everyone, and the grace of God, we're all learning to do an even better job of rocking the liberal world next time. Freep on.

I think RonDog is going to get a group photo from IHOP up soon. Some of the photos are still coming in.

Thanks for the report. I wish I could have heard the singing. I've been taking antibiotics since Friday night and they seem to be working.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, but Ted (Uncle Sam) has a great singing voice. As the limos were pulling up,and at other times in the day, we sang "God Bless America," "America the Beautiful," and four or five other patriotic ballads. Ted was singing over the bull horn. It was undoubtable the best feel good point of the day, and although I'm not the best singer I can get down (knowing that bass carries a long, long way). I got down and got loud along with the bull horn, and the other Freepers, and I thought it sounded pretty darn good. The male Freepers were really pouring on the bass. I absolutely loved it. We had people joining in from the crowd on a few of the songs, and we know Hollywood heard those songs very loud and clear! Even at the very end as we were cleaning up, we broke into the national anthem with Ted leading us, and people stopped and listened. When we hit the challenging point, where we really needed the ladies to hit the high notes (the land of the freeee) we struggled and couldn't help laughing at ourselves, but we ended strong with, "and the home of the brave." Even the crowd chuckled good naturedly when we struggled with the brave effort of our guys to hit the high notes.

That bunch of *stars* meet every year to pat themselves on the back and talk about how quintessentially important they are and always manage to take the low road in their political comments. Every year. I am so tired of even channel surfing past the sad old male *stars* with dark circles and bags under their eyes with the young *starlets* on their arms in the designer dresses that cost more than my house, with the fake looking plastic breasts hanging out of those dresses. Fifteen minutes of fame and they don't even realize it. I don't even know who the latest flavors of the month ones are. Regret ever having put my hard earned dimes and quarters in their pockets even in a limited way. Overpaid and overblown fatuous, flatulent folks. . and deep down most of them know it.

"I've been taking antibiotics since Friday night"

First I knew that you were mimicing a DUmmie with PEST syndrome to avoid a FReep! LOL. Seriously, this comes with a prayer that you are back at Pajamas Up 100% status quickly.

To paraphrase an old song by Eddie Money:

"You can't keep a 'jama down."
