After coaching and getting permission from his mistress, Ms Saranwrap, Girlyboy, Tim Robbins, flashes his total IQ in response to the Freepers in Follywood!

Then Robbins shouted, "I'M SO GAY!"

I couldn't agree with you more. Funny thing...As a young girl, I watched all sorts of movies (still do), and my favorite thing to do was to memorize the lines and pretend I was the actress. Many times, I would play dress up in my mother's party clothes, and pretend to give an acceptance speech! In school plays, I not only memorized my lines, but very often EVERYBODY'S Lines! I wanted So badly to act! But, life happened, and I am still here.

What I have realized, though - as an adult with children of my own - is that my reasons for wanting this were not just to be recognized and patted on the back. I wanted a voice. I thought - if I can get myself in a position like that - then I can have an influence on the way this world is. When Princess Diana used her position to go and call attention to the land mines, when Oprah uses her power to bring out atrocities in places like the Congo - that is what it should be about. Not the houses and cars and jewels.
Having all that money and power, and caring only about yourself - that is the part of the scene I have no interest in. If I made HALF the money Seinfeld used to make per episode, or the cash the BIG GUYS make per movie - there wouldn't be a homeless person on the street(unless they wanted to be).
It is a shame to have that much power and NOT use it for the greater good.

Ah, still figuring out the Free Republic bloggers world, but love what I see so far. Here's my little after action report, which will be somewhat condensed not to include too much of what others have already said.

The first thing I've got to mention is that suit that RonDog put on to parody Michael Moore. It looked pretty much to me like a knock off of the Goodyear blimp, that was flying overhead, and I almost busted a gut when RonDog exclaimed (after much work putting on the suit), "Hey, I think I got it on backwards." He did! There was some extra padding in the posterior area, and that was now in the front. We all shared a common critique that Fahrenheit 911 was truly bass-ackwards in its presentation of facts, and that somehow the backwards putting on of the suit gave an extra insight to the parody. I even shouted out, "Michael Moore is trying to butt into Hollywood!" Ron had a fan inside the suit, and he literally blew it up to give a more "rotund" appearance.

I would say the majority of the looks we got most of the day were looks of, "Huh?" That's a pretty common look on the face of Hollywood types so I wasn't surprised. There were a few notable hecklers, but we always pulled the children back out of fear of rabies.

One woman who was particularly obnoxious I photographed, and when I got home and looked at the photo I couldn't believe it. She either had on mirrored glasses or the lighting was just right, and the reflection of one of our red shirted ladies standing her ground was squarely in the reflection coming from one side of the heckler’s glasses. I couldn't have set that shot up if I’d tried a thousand times. I love photography, especially at these exciting events. The pictures always help to add details to the story that would otherwise be missed, and sometimes, as in the example of “the lady in red” reflection, they even add their own details. I cropped the photo down to show just the lady in red in glasses lens. Thank goodness for high pixelation cameras in small packages.

I was the guy next to the Bush sign in the AP photo, and was holding a sign that said, “Hey Hollywood America Voted!” (see previous posts) The sign has that predominately red filled map of the U.S. in the center of the sign.

I was the maker of the sign that read, "...and the winner is a free Iraq" I scanned (at 300 dpi) a post card that our President sent to me during his successful campaign for President, then cropped it, imported it into Microsoft Publisher's poster document setup (set to 30" X 40"), pushed the margins to the max, added the words top and bottom, then printed it out on 8 1/2 X 11 paper on my laser printer. From 1st scan to print out took about 10 minutes, but I had to cut and tape each sheet afterward and that took about 45 minutes (all a labor of love).

About 3 P.M., when the limos started backing up, we gave the "and the winner is" sign to someone who was standing at the very front, and I moved forward into the crowd with a couple of big purple fingers. I did see some actors look over and read our signs (most with that blank, “Huh?” look). The majority of them were concerned with their own appearances, preening and strutting for the cameras and the fans. It was a real experience for me as I've never seen rich and famous people pull multi-thousand dollar designer clothes out of body crevices before - just like poor people do with their ill fitting attire.

It was a nice Winter day in Sunny Southern California so as the afternoon sun moved west we were not burned to a crisp by the usually intense heat of this dessert climate.

At about 5 p.m. one of the most gratifying times of the day came when Ron pulled a trash can to our spot and we cleaned up the mess that we and a lot of other people had made with soft drink cups, etc. You gotta love the good people who lead by doing the most menial of tasks in a spirit of love and service for the betterment of all.

After the event we all fell back to the IHOP on Sunset Blvd. were we restored precious bodily fluids, ate, and generally took R & R.

Lastly, what is an event such as this without a few group shots of all those fun loving Freepers.

Sorry for the lack of photos. I had about seven I tried to add, but I just couldn't get them in. I think I have some set up things still to do on my new ISP. They should be up soon on Ron Dogs web site, or in a day or two on this site.

Freep-on, Ray

NO ONE arriving at the Red Carpet area could avoid seeing it. :o)

I really think this sign helped tone down the Anti-American spin during the Oscars.

The actors knew their words and applause for anti-USA comments would bite them in the butt. They aren't really that brave, you know.

I'm so glad that sign was there to pinch their consciences before they entered the Red Carpet!!

Even though Freeping is fun, this never would work without the efforts of RonDog and everyone else (more people then I know!) who planned ahead of time, gathered props, signs, found the perfect locations, etc.

Working separately, but together in purpose, makes for a very successful freep!!

Loved you braveheart posting. It reminded me that at about 4 Oclock yesterday I saw some guy going to the Oscars with his date, who got out of a Limo wearing "full dress kilts." "Braveheart" and "Mel Gibson" were the first thoughts that entered my mind, but I knew that was years ago, and that this must just be some brave Scotish lad showing his Hollywood his FREEDOM!
