Police have uncovered new evidence in the decades old BTK Wichita serial killer case and are questioning a person of interest, according to sources close to the investigation.
Authorities scheduled a news conferece for 11AM Eastern Saturday to make an announcement in the case, and relatives of the killers victims would be briefed beforehand.
Some police sources have said that a 59 year old man was arrested Friday and linked to the case by a DNA sample.
Surveillance activites gave police 'their first big piece' of recent evidence, leading authorities to a vehicle and the person of interest.
Investigators also searched a house in the Wichita suburb of Park City Friday, siezing computer equipment.

Sweet and compliant ...no doubt.
Does anyone know for how long he was employed by the Park City government? Was his daughter at the news conference? Why was his daughter brought into this case?
IIRC daughter gave her DNA, so they could compare it to the killers.
I saw a copy of a document of his resignation May 20, 1998 last night. I will see if I can find it again.
That's the next big question, my guess is that he was hired by Park City somewhere between 1986-1991 when the last killings/communications stopped.
He must have had something happen last March that caused him to need the attention enough to risk resurfacing. He needed to revisit the feelings of being smarter than the police, the sense of power, and it did him in.
What's your take on this....

He is our new mayor in Wichita KS, I think he is much better than the last one.
Please, don't judge Wichita or KS by the wierd press conference. That was just srange, made me want to hide.
This is a genealogy site that was linked off the daughter's site. On the daughter's website, she said this was her family. I've looked around at the Rader.org website but can't find a search engine.

Bump
I'll bet he kept himself busy torturing some of the stray dogs he was rounding up.
The Kansas.com board is reporting that a Wichita Home Depot east camera caught Rader's car and tags..(across the street from a public library?)
And here's an archived copy of the church website, but his name isn't on it. Wasn't he supposedly the "President?" This site is probably outdated.

He may have actually found Christ and chose this way to repent and pay for his past sins.
Yah think!!!

There has got to be a twist to all of this wierdnes of the backslapping, it is not normal for this community. I just have a gut feeling.
