That union tried the same thing in Thompson, Manitoba, and even managed to get another vote, which was rejected a second time as well. Unionism had cost that town enough grief in the past, they just can't get it through their heads.

I'm happy with this outcome.

In today's world, unions are strictly parasites...Union leaders feast on the wages of workers, destroy jobs and businesses, create hardship....and when the companies finally fold, these wretched people look for other victims.

FORMER UNITES STATES STEEL WORKER!

The union claims that Walmart added additional workers to the unit to "dilute" the vote...the union got ONE vote! How the union goon make such a silly claim with a straight face?

Bottom line, Unions are a business. They have to profit in order to live. When it comes to arbitration, the employees are the ones that lose.

Unions died when the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republic self immolated.

I am not crazy about Wal Mart putting competitors out of business using subversive tactics (and I do believe with reason that they do that) but Unions are an anachronism.

Unions are exactly run by parasites largely, and they hurt businesses and the economy more than they help. Only short sighted self centered people with no concern for posterity would seriously deny that.

Not to mention the 6 that accidently voted for Pat Buchanan.

and Wal-Mart added employees to the unit to dilute the strength of the union supporters.

That should be 'union supporter.' There was only one.

Workers at a Wal-Mart Tire & Lube Express voted 17-1 against union representation ... [union] spokesman Dave Minshall said ... Wal-Mart added employees to the unit to dilute the strength of the union supporters.

Supporters? Supporters? Unless he is counting the jock straps in sporting goods, I only see one union supporter in that election.

The people trying to unionize Wal-Mart must be complete idiots. Colorado is about as anti-union as a state can get. People in Loveland who are working for Wal-Mart are happy to have those jobs, I can tell you. You have to make a lot of sacrifices to live around tourist areas in the Rockies.

They should have tried it California. Those people will fall for anything (no offense, guys).

Commercial Workers spokesman Dave Minshall said the group will ask the National Labor Relations Board to throw the results out, saying no union member was allowed to observe the election and Wal-Mart added employees to the unit to dilute the strength of the union supporters.

Typical Democrat infested union response, poor babies!

Wal Mart should just have a standing policy, any store that goes union is CLOSED. Enough said.

Ah, good old UFCW Local 7, messing up again. For the last week or so, I've been hearing Dave Minshall declare on local radio how great this victory will be for the union and, lo and behold, he was wrong again. Minshall has also been one of the prime movers towards behind encouraging the workers at the big 3 local Supermarkets to strike, a move that the national boys have quietly warned against.

Come to think of it, I don't remember a successful strike by Local 7 in the past 20 years. They keep having to slink back to the bargaining table after a few weeks. But I'm sure that it has nothing to do with Minshall's leadership.

Too bad for the union that this was in Colorado and not Washington state. Had this election been in Washington, then the first recount would have shown the union lost 18-13, but then the next recount would have shown the union winning 21-20.
