Maine State Rep. Brian Duprey introduced an unusual piece of legislation this month. It's a pro-life bill designed to tighten protections for the unborn. That's not the unusual part. That happens all the time. The interesting part is that Duprey's bill is designed to protect gay fetuses. Rep. Duprey told a local paper, The Magic City Morning Star, that he'd been listening to Rush Limbaugh's radio show when Limbaugh commented that if scientists ever located the genetic cause for homosexuality the so-called "gay gene" then homosexuals would become pro-life "overnight." "Most people would agree that to kill someone just because that person might be gay would constitute a hate crime," Duprey said. "I have heard from women who told me that if they found out that they were carrying a child with the gay gene, then they would abort. I think this is wrong. Those unborn children should be protected." That's why he introduced LD 908, "An Act to Protect Homosexuals from Discrimination." Now, I don't know if Duprey's on the up-and-up with all of this. I don't even know if he's against abortions for straight babies. I also doubt that we'll ever find anything like a "gay gene." Still, this little stunt ought to provoke some much-needed reflection about technology, ideology and human society. .........

I have been posting predictions of this here for over three years. The first abortion to avoid a gay child will cause the end of feminism and the death of both RvW and the democrats.
First ban abortions for gay gene carriers, and then under the no-discrimination-for-sexual-orientation clause, ban abortions of those without the gene. Presto! Abortions are banned altogether.
WOW. Hopefully Rush gets wind of this. He would have a field day!

I've had this very same question on my profile page for well over a year, myself. It's a Gordian knot that no left-winger will touch.
Have faith in the lawyers - they'll save us all!
Wow! Rush Limbaugh has predicted something like this for some time.
Just imagine the controversy that would erupt if someone wanted to research "gene therapy" to "treat" homosexuality. That would be quite a a battle!!!
i sent this concept to Rush two years ago.

I sent it to him before he ever spoke about it. Not to say he didn't already have it in his mind.
Quite a concept - and now it's happening!
well good job! but i didnt mean if Rush got this idea, i meant if he heard that this guy is actually trying to do this.
This is the same sort of cunundrum that made animanl rights "people" and homos go at each other with signs and fists(combatively)
The issue was medical testing on animals must be stopped but gays said only for the exception of AIDS research.---That's when their love lubricant hit the fan.
....would have loved to see videos.
Somewhere in hell, the pilot light just went out.
Times are getting interesting.
This didn't even occur to me! I love it when people like you have a fascinating idea!!! Then someone like me who is constantly scatter-brained (I blame my kids for this!!) can actually have an intelligent thought. I love it! :-)
A "gay" gene is found and can be determined in utero.
Women start having abortions to avoid having a gay child.
Gay activists declare a state of emergency and say that abortion will make them extinct in two generations. They demand protection of gay fetuses, that is, right to life in the womb.
Feminists fight that saying that it is the woman's body so it's her choice and no fetus has rights. The fear they have is that if a gay fetus has rights then all fetuses have rights and abortion violates their right to live. Thet cannot allow that.
The gays fight the fems, tearing the democratic party apart. They will be spinning so fast they'll faint.
The gays join with RTL fighters and Roe V. Wade is over turned.
Nonono. A wymans right to chose is absolute. /sarcasm
