Maurice Hinchey, the far-left Demcorat who at a public forum in Ithaca over the weekend accused Karl Rove of planting the forged Rathergate documents, will be on Hannity and Colmes during this hour.

I'm sorry to say that Hinchey is my congressman. This is the same guy who at the beginning of the Iraq war accused our military of committing 'massacres' in Iraq.

I can confidently predict that Hinchey will not back down. He is a strutting little arrogant fellow. Keep your eyes peeled to see if the cameras show his feet - he likes to affect cowboy boots - this Brooklyn-born little tough guy.

Now, I didn't say that to rub it in, just in explanation of how I really feel sorry for you---

If I were you, I would make a videotape of his performance on H&C and take it around to all of the bigwigs in his district and show it to them and ask them if THAT is what they really want representing them in congress---

Admitting that I may be biased, doesn't it seem that the D party has a preponderance of the whack jobs? Throw in Lee and McKinney and Waters.

I can't think of any R's that are whack jobs. I may disagree with McCain, W, Hatch, Lott, etc., but they never sound like loons.

I hate to tell you this Fox *ping* person, but I DID sneak a peek at Chrissy Matthews show this evening and he had on Charlie Rangel and some guy from a group that is like AARP except FOR the Bush SS plan---

Oh that's OK... I rarely watch all of Greta's show "On The Record". (I only saw the opening segment about Terri Schiavo tonight.) Sometimes I wonder why she isn't employed by CourtTV. I actually have Scarborough on now (MSNBC).

Thanks for the heads up... maybe I'll take a peek at Chrissy Matthews' show rerun at 11pm - although that voice of his really grates on me.

Did you notice that at the end of the segment in which Scarborough was criticizing the MTV/Rock the Vote guy for opposing W's Social Security plan, Scarborough admitted that he was opposed to it himself [on the theory it will require heavy borrowing]?

If it gives you any consolation, I used to live in Pennsylvania. Whackos in politics there. And they are still blessed with Arlen Specter. Now there's someone we can trust, not!

Although I'm an avid FReeper, I can't ever recall previously looking for aid, comfort and solace here, but this Hinchey thing truly has me bent out of shape, given that I am plagued with him as my congressman.

Here is a link to a thread that shows Burkett's one time lawyer, David Van Os, speaking at a Kerry Campaign event. Posted by GOPcapitalist. So he has connections to Dean, Kerry, and the DNC. I'd say the majority of FReepers are mainstream conservatives. The overwhelming majority supported W for President, and a significant majority are Republicans. I think it's unfair for him to cast FReepers in general as "ultra-right wing" unless he's willing to describe the liberal Dem base as "ultra-left wing."

Hinchey didn't bother to try to make a serious case on Hannity & Colmes tonight. It was just a smirking attempt to throw a little mud around, endear himself to his far-left supporters, and revel in his fleeting moment on national TV.

Hinchey needs an articulate moderate to liberal Pubbie of the Boelert type whose rich and willing to pump a couple of million of his own money into the race to take Hinchey out. This affair gives such a candidate an opening. Kerry probably carried the district by about 7% as a wild guess.
