Exactly ! All this going on and on when there is a very simple solution. It would've been a lot easier had he just walked away a long time ago. Now, he's made himself look like he has something to gain when he really doesn't.

Because then the $1.4 Million that was supposed to be spent on rehab, will be spent on rehab, instead of his new honey. It seems as though he should've moved on ages ago.

he stands to inherit a million dollars when she dies. that's why he is so anxious to starve her to death. It would've been a lot more conscienable to just walk away, but we're talking money. And a million isn't enough to slowly starve a person to death. That's far too heartless.

>I'm all for keeping her alive from a Christian perspective. But who is responsible for her hospital bills?
Surely it must be costing someone an incredible amount of money to keep her alive.<
As I understand it, Medicaid is now paying for her. However, there was a huge award given Michael Shiavo for the express purpose of caring for his wife.
He spent much of the money on Lawyer Felos, and on litigation with the goal of removing his wife's feeding tube.
Terri is now dependent on the state, due to the frivolous actions of Michael S. and George Felos.

I strongly recommend that you take your prayers for Terri straight to The Top.
Consider: that's the model Jesus gave (cf. Mat. 6:9; Lk. 11:1-4; John 17 -- ask "Who is he praying to?"); it's the model St. Paul gave -- whenever he mentions his prayers, he's always praying straight to God; and it's the model the early church gave (cf. Acts:24-30).
Since you desire that your prayers be answered as theirs were, use the same model that they used. St. Paul teaches in Philippians 4:6 that we ought to "..present [our] requests to God."
It's critically important that all of the earnest prayers being offered on Terri's behalf be properly directed to The One Supreme Power in the Universe with the capability to move all of Heaven and Earth to answer them.

This should not be going through the court as a controversy over pulling the plug, it should be over who is guardian. It is mindboggling, that the court didn't designate her parents as guardians. And with a pricy attorney, he can kiss a lot of that million dollars-that he thinks is a lot of money-away. It won't stretch when he gets through with lawyers feas and of course litigation from Terry's parents. You could bank on that one.

Call me dramatic, but I believe Satan is actively involved in this case. Although I do not believe ANYONE (regardless of whether he be in a vegetative state or not) should be starved and dehydrated to death, the fact that Terry Schiavo is not even in such a state would make her death a particular "coup" for the Forces of Darkness. You're just being dramatic! :) Actually, it's hard to disagree with that. Well, for non-atheists anyway.

Dumb question time...I haven't followed this case very closely, so please forgive me.
I keep hearing on the radio news today that Terri is brain dead. That's not true, is it? They're saying she's been brain dead for a long time. I saw the videos of her moving her head around and responding to things around her. Can someone be brain dead and still move around and follow things with his/her eyes?
What's up with using the term "brain dead"? And what would be the correct term for the state she's in?
I'm sorry if I come across as living with my head in the sand, but I don't think I've heard that term used to describe her before. I've heard "vegetative state," but not "brain dead."

However, there was a huge award given Michael Shiavo for the express purpose of caring for his wife. I'm wondering if the company who paid MS off on the contingency of caring for his wife can counter sue for the money, since he's done nothing of the sort as to what he testified to?

No, she's awake, alert, laughs at jokes, reacts to her father's tickly beard and many other things. The media, even Fox News, persists in calling her brain dead or vegetative...and no one seems to know why they're DOING that! It's not true as the videos prove.
To: thoughtomator; Bigh4u2
What does he have to gain? If she's dead, she won't talk about how she came to be in her current situation in the first place, which Occam's Razor and rumors say that he's the one who put her there. Don't forget MS is insisting on immediate cremation to hide the evidence.

Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you, universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Please pray for Terry, she is so helpless and alone. Please make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Please come to her assistance in these great needs, that she may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all her necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly let her continue to be fed, to live, and to have visits from her priest and family. And I promise, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of these great favors, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Needs repeating.

I believe there was a $1 million dollar settlement with the hospital. Widowed he gets it: Divorced he does not get it.

No one is going to forget the Sarah Scantlin case in Wichita (she speaks after 20 years!), her family gave her stimulation every day with Radio, TV and family visitation..
The type of treatment that Michael has refused Terri!

The irony is(gross understatement)that the girlfriend has had children with Schiavo, would be a partner in murder but "wants a Catholic wedding" when they've killed Terri. Even the Pope has spoken against removing feeding. Mind boggling. But then this entire issue is mind boggling. It is total insanity to me that a court could take a husband's word that Terri wanted to die. No living will, nothing.
To: writer33
I'm sure the judge and her husband don't care about the enormous amount of stress they are causing the people who love Terry. There should be no rush in a case like this to kill an innocent person without getting all the facts and medical information first. If there is even one doctor who testifies that Terry could make some kind of recovery the court should give her that opportunity immediately. If her husband and the judge have nothing to worry about or gain from Terry's death they shouldn't stand in the way of her getting treatments. If they continue to block her treatment and push for her death it means they have a vested interest in killing her.
