Maybe you'd feel better if there was justification. Sims' lawyer tried to create some. She said Scarpino, who is white, made a racial remark about Sims, who is black. But no witnesses -- and there were several -- confirmed this.

Gee, a lawyer playing the phony race card. How novel....

What does the author mean, 'senseless?' The reason for this act is obvious from his own account. It was a racial hate crime.

Really. But what happened to free speech and the 1st Amendment if such a remark was made? I mean this is an attorney making the claim right? Does the use of the word nigger by a non black provide a legal invitation to physical violence? Is it some kind of beat down 'get out of jail free' card?

but with an unusually mean 'rat underbelly.

The owner should have called the police right away when she started yelling. Looks like he was going to crack her in the face. All those grown assed men around and they stood there like bumps on a log. I couldn't finish watching the video because of the intolerable cussing. I had a very similar run in with two women in a department store and I had to have security escort me to my car.

This is one of the most shocking things I've seen in a long time.

And this isn't being prosecuted as a hate crime, even after the perp called the victim a "white motherf*cker"? Typical of "hate crime" accusers: Instigate racial violence, and then accuse the victim of making a racial remark. And even a nasty racial remark would never justify laying a hand on someone else, no matter how vile.

The black woman perp in the video ought to go to jail, too, for assault and inciting the other perp to violence.

Amazing how when no one carries a gun, crap like this goes on. In my state, the guy would have been likely staring down the barrel of someone's trusty sidearm.
