...Mr Schiavo, who lives with a girlfriend by whom he has two children, plans to withdraw the gastric tube through which his wife is fed when a temporary court order barring him expires tomorrow. He insists that his wife once told him that she would not want to be kept alive should she ever suffer brain damage, although he recalled the conversation three years after her collapse and only after winning $1 million in medical negligence damages relating to her early care....

Unfortunately, this is not about Terri; it's about euthanasia and the right to snuff anyone for any reason.

You're so right. It has nothing more to do with the person of Miss Schiavo than Roe v. Wade had to do with the puppet plaintiff in that case.

behind them both were misguided zealots who'd use anyone to forward their death wish agenda.

You know, if she were my daughter, I think I would be making arrangement right now to get her the heck out of whatever hospital she is in---and on a ship outside of US territory or something---

You have heard the cliche "over my dead body"---well that would have to be how they got my daughter and killed her for no good reason---

It is times like this that I wish I was a billionaire---I would get on my jet and fly down and get the whole family and set them up anywhere in world they would want to go, with medical help night and day

Really. He should not be given the right to make this decision. He has too many reasons to want her dead.

It has something to do with the money he got - if she dies he gets it all if she lives he has to share it - I don't remember all the particulars but it all boils down to the settlement. He is one sick puppy.

It isn't just about money. Any new guardian would be required to examine Terri's person and records.

There is some question about what caused this?

I heard so apologist for Terri's husband on a talk radio show last week say that it is out of his hands--that he (Shiavo) doesn't have control and if he were to object to them removing the feeding tube, then HE would be in contempt of court and would get in trouble---

In one of his interviews, I recall Michael saying that same thing. LIAR.

That is a great thought. I hope Ross is thinking about it like he did with our POW's!

bummer, this man deserves to be put into a Permanent Vegetative State

Just lock him and Felos in separate rooms when Terri's feeding is discontinued, and supervise them to ensure they receive no food or water. If they outlast Terri, they win. If Terri outlasts them, she wins. Sound fair?

There is some question about what caused this?

There is some question about the cause of her initial collapse. There is no question about the cause of her lack of improvement.

Not that bad of an idea, although I wouldn't want Terri but in that situation. I don't care about Michael (Monster) Schiavo, though.

Terri has gone as long as 6 1/2 days in 2003. Let's see if Michael and Felos can do the same.

I think she could take it better than they could. And if going through it once more would be she'd be free of those bas^H^H^Hnot-nice people, it'd might be worth it.

The weasels would probably cheat, though, so it probably isn't a good idea, as wonderful as the thought would be.

Hey 6 1/2 days is longer than I could probably go. I just hate to see him kill her.

I am a death historian, (I study death for a living) and this lack of respect for life angers me no end. There was a time when a death was a communal rite of passage, a way of worshiping, either literally or figuratively, the life of the deceased (or the deceased proper in some cultures). It seems now, the world views death as a way of making the survivors life more convenient - which is what abortion and euthanasia are all about.

That is exactly right.I've never seen an innocent life treated like shit as it is in this case.I am sorry for using that word but it's the only one that describes Terry's treatment by the courts and her pig of a husband. If they are allowed to kill her it will be one of the greatest injustices of our time. She has been cheated by her husband his lawyer and judge Greer from the very beginning and now it's like his hands are around her throat one last time squeezing the last bit of life from her in the end.
