"Therefore do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?' or "What shall we drink?' or "What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
We come to You grateful for all the blessings that You provide and the knowledge that we do not face problems alone but that You are with us, taking our burdens from us. Your grace and Your mercy are boundless. You grant us all that we need and much more. And yet, Lord, we confess that too often we still worry and fret. Forgive us for this and for all our sins. Instill in us the assurance that You are our Comforter, our Guide, our Provider and that we can experience the peace that passes understanding when we place our trust in You.
Father, we pray for our President and thank You for leading him in the demanding tasks set before him. Keep him steadfast and true to You, always seeking You through prayer and study of Your Word. Fill him with wisdom, courage, patience, discernment, and love. His enemies are many and we ask You to watch over him, thwarting the efforts of those who wish him harm whether it be political, physical, or spiritual.
Let us always remember those who serve in our armed forces. Their sacrifices through the ages have been great and our appreciation is deep. Let them not be discouraged by the media who wish to destroy their morale but let them know of the respect and admiration of a grateful nation. Heal those who have been injured in body or spirit and comfort the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Lord, our nation has sinned against You. Many of our citizens seek power and glory and self-gratification rather than desiring to please You. Revive us, creating in our nation a yearning to know You and to obey Your commandments. Let our people set aside their false gods and worship only You, the One True God. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. - Psalms 34:4
What an awesome prayer for a country in need. Thank you kayak and all who pray for our President, our troops, and our country.
"Amen"
AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!
O Lord God,
Thou art my protecting arm,
fortress, refuge, shield, buckler.
Fight for me and my foes must flee;
Uphold me and I cannot fall;
Strengthen me and I stand unmoved, unmoveable;
Equip me and I shall receive no wound;
Stand by me and Satan will depart;
Anoint my lips with a song of salvation
and I shall shout thy victory;
Give me abhorrence of all evil,
as a vile monster that
defies thy law, casts off thy yoke,
defiles my nature, spreads misery.
Teach me to look to Jesus on his cross
and so to know sins loathsomeness in thy sight.
There is no pardon but through thy Sons death,
no cleansing but in his precious blood,
no atonement but his to expiate evil.
Show me the shame, the agony, the bruises
of incarnate God,
that I may read boundless guilt in the
boundless price;
May I discern the deadly viper in its real malignity,
tear it with holy indignation from my breast,
resolutely turn from its every snare,
refuse to hold polluting dalliance with it.
Blessed Lord Jesus, at thy cross
may I be taught the awful miseries from which
I am saved,
ponder what the word lost implies,
see the fires of eternal destruction;
Then may I cling more closely to thy broken self,
adhere to thee with firmer faith,
be devoted to thee with total being,
detest sin as strongly as thy love to me
is strong,
And may holiness be the atmosphere
in which I live.
A PURITANS PRAYER!
SOLI DEO GLORIA!
Thank you for your Beautiful Prayer, sister Kayak, it was a Blessing to me.
Boy, isn't it the truth! I have been reminding myself that when I worry, I am actually sinning because I am falling into doubt and fear---both of which belong to the devil's camp. That tends to jolt me back to returning to prayer and the Word, which are on the highway to peace. Thanks, kayak.
"May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, glorified, loved and preserved throughout the world now and forever Amen."
