BILL CLINTON AN ANNEX-DODGER (Clinton rips-off students, school stuck with the bill)

February 17, 2005 -- LEARNING Annex boss Steve Schragis is steamed at Bill Clinton for reneging on a promise to deliver a seminar in exchange for a $150,000 donation to his presidential library in Little Rock, Ark.

"Over 1,500 students registered and we rented the Theater at Madison Square Garden. We guaranteed a $150,000 payment to his library — and we were thrilled to do it." Tickets ranged from $49-$299.

However, when Clinton was hospitalized with heart problems just before the event, it was postponed. "Every single student obviously understood," Schragis says. "And of course, we did also."

Clinton's people promised to reschedule the engagement ASAP, but the Learning Annex is still waiting. Schragis and Annex students who paid the fee are getting restless, especially since Clinton has been making appearances all over the world.

He notes, "Students are getting tired of waiting. They're asking for refunds. About 400 of the registered students have given up, and we've returned their money."

To make matters worse, Schragis spent over $200,000 on radio and print ads promoting Clinton's appearance which he has no hope of recouping.

Clinton's office did not explain why he has not rescheduled, but said, "We hope the Learning Annex, a for-profit business, returns any money paid by consumers, because it's their responsibility to do so."

Anybody that paid money for clinton deserves to lose it. I hope this teaches them a valuable lesson--NEVER trust a dem.
