UPCOMING EPISODE: "There's something about Marrying"
To boost tourism, the town of Springfield decides to legalize same-sex marriage and one of Springfields own comes out of the closet...
Sunday February 20 8/7c.
Heard it's supposed to be Lenny and Carl, Homer's co-workers and bar buddies.
Lighten up a little bit, why don't you?
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
Am I close?
I am fairly sure I speak for everyone. Nobody cares what color you are. We disagee with your VIEWS. Why bring your race into this?
It was the Flaming Homer before it was the flaming Moe. I think it will be Lisa. Ha ha.
How heavy is that chip?
I honestly don't understand why people like you go through all the trouble to sign up for an account on a conservative activists' forum, just so you can post comments dismissing and trivializing any objections to crap like this being injected into our culture with increasing frequency.
Yes, the Simpsons is just a cartoon, and I would not personally bother to make this show my battleground, but if some more motivated FReepers out there want to get the word out with the chance that they may have a positive influence on the entertainment industry, I say more power to them. That's what the culture war is all about. I would rather see that than someone on this site demanding that everyone shut up and take it.
As an aside, I stopped watching the Simpsons years ago, after being a long time fan, because their political satire became more and more humorless until it has become almost a straight list of talking points, and not the kind of talking points that I like.
Fee:
Thank you for your comments. I don't watch the show, but lik you said, people should be more concerned about what passes for "entertainment" these days.
I just got to thinking how they'll show the queers lining up outside the newly-opened fudge shop.
Just in time, it is turning from a JUST DAMN to a Black Conservative thread!
Sure does bring the needlebutts out, though. There is tragic humor in their ignorance.
But you have a right to complain if it offends you. I just don't think you are going to get that many people to side with you-on this one.
No.
Don't watch it if you don't like it.
Dear FOX, I'm writing because I'm pretty sure the episode of the Simpsons you are about to air will be offensive to me...
This coming episode of The Simpsons has been a regular topic of discussion here on FR for months. What has taken you so long to post about it?
What's wrong with the word "crap"?
Finally!! King of the Hill is the best.
I used to be a huge Simpsons fan, but I just don't think the show is very good any more.
Both of Marge's sisters have a thing for McGyver and one of them was married to Sideshow Bob (and seemed to be enjoying the honeymoon).
That leaves Carl and Disco Stu (and a sixth character whom I'm forgetting about the moment, but who isn't likely).
Of the two, Stu is the lesser character, who we know little about and who can *go away* if there is a problem.
My $.02

The return of Family Guy is going to be a wonderful addition to TV as well.
