There is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing it's character many times. A few months back, the rock received it's latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It's quite an impressive sight. Scroll down and check out the multiple photos (all angles) of the rock. It seems the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.
Here's the artist Ray "Bubba" Sorensen.
Directions to the Freedom*Rock
Approx. 37 miles west of Des Moines on Highway 25 approx. 1 mile south of Interstate 80 (exit 86) & 12 miles north of Greenfield, Iowa.

Bubba rocks!
If I ever had the honor to meet Bubba, I'd like to shake his hand and buy him a cold beer.

It is absolutely beautiful. I would say to take that rock and put it in the Smithsonian. However, it looks just as good right where it is.

But wait...this can't
really be "art." No federal funding paid for it to enrich our children! The artist isn't disgruntled, or a victim! The work offends no one (or possibly only other "artist" on the Left)! It required no pledge drive to hound support out of Liberals who feel guilty for being an American! No, I'm sorry, this can't possibly be "art"! It is actually a cruel plot to confuse American youth by making them feel good about being Americans, and to try and pursude them that they live in the best country in the world.
I certainly hope that someone has notified the ACLU so that this so-called "free speech" thing can be stopped, and now!

I've seen some of these 'rock' pix previously, but this is the first time I've seen pix of the artist.
It is almost a shame that he re-paints the rock. It would be good if he could find more rocks (smile) and preserve the artwork.

Absolutely breath-taking!!
Are we talking about the rock or the artist? LOL
To: 50sDad
Kind of like he violated the rights of the rock. Did it ask to be painted? Does it want to be patriotic? Hmmmm.
Just kidding of course.

Now there is an artist!
No National Endowment for the Arts funding for Mr. Sorensen? How can that be? No elites fawning over him? No MSM coverage?
Thanks Mr. Sorensen
