Online Nude Photos Are Latest Chapter In Jeff Gannon Saga
Washington Post ^ | Wednesday, February 16, 2005 | Howard Kurtz

The Jeff Gannon story is still bouncing around the Internet, and now there are pictures.

The kind you shouldn't open up in the office.

The X-rated twist has made for a lot of clandestine clicking in a town where Deep Throat conjures images not of a porn star but of a man in a parking garage. But it has also deepened the debate over blogging and the tactics used to drive a conservative reporter from his job as White House correspondent for two Web sites owned by a Republican activist.

In most Beltway melodramas, the resignation ends the story. The problem for Gannon, whose real name is James Dale Guckert, is that he told The Washington Post and CNN's Wolf Blitzer last week that he never launched the Web sites whose provocative names he had registered, such as hotmilitarystud.com. But a Web designer in California said yesterday that he had designed a gay escort site for Gannon and had posted naked pictures of Gannon at the client's request.

WELL, IF BILL CLINTON COULD BE THE "FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT," WHY NOT? More evidence that some people are taking the Gannon/Guckert story farther than the facts warrant: I just got a press release from Democrats.com asking:

Did George W. Bush Have S*x with That Man, James Guckert?

Heh. I wonder if this whole thing is a Karl Rove sting operation? If so, the suckers are now firmly on the hook.

Well, we now have another low point in the continuing story.

See what I mean by escalating the charges? It's like the leftists are saying, "Well, they didn't get upset yet, but THIS will get them."

This smells of a manufactured scandal, with Congresspeople all ready to pounce as soon as "the trigger was pulled."-- Apparently they didn't expect Gannon to resign so quickly. Also, they apparently thought that the merest whiff of gay allegations would cause an uproar within the conservative realm.... To all of this I say "ho-hum." It has nothing to do with me, or the President, or even Scott McClellan.

I agree- I keep wading and digging through all their garbage, and at the end of it all? It looks like a manufactured "scandal" to me. Ho, hum- another Leftist smear job.

Fire With Fire
*** INDC XXXCLUSIVE MUST CREDIT INDC ***

Yesterday's outing and scandalous accusations about Jeff Gannon's alleged career as an escort were outrageous; the methodology of bloggers swarming to dig up questionable personal business associations and post graphic pornographic pictures of a partisan right wing journalist was perhaps the most deplorable example of the politics of personal destruction that I've ever witnessed. At first, I was shocked. Then I became angry. And finally - I decided to get even.

..I needed a laugh after all this...This gave me one.

It he was clandestinely pushing the gay agenda, you'd have a legitimate reason to complain.
Hating him because he's gay is personal and has nothing to do with politics, so don't blow smoke pretending that it is.
His being a homosexual has nothing to do with the work he did for the conservative movement.
Oh, you're new here, so you wouldn't know that.

God knows, they would have done it to Buckhead if there was anything on him..........

The obvious points being; a. There was nothing on BH but a ton of stuff on Freeper Gannon, and...

b. BH was not a "member> of the WH press corps with credentials issued by somebody.

Get some perspective.

but the sin he first committed was being conservative so the left found personal dirt to air....

___________________________________________

The sin he committed was being an arrogant, duplicitous, immoral profiteer in the porn trade. Setting himself up to be knocked down just compounded his sins with stupidity. The left is doing no more to this creep than many here would do to, say Carville, if he were similarly twisted.

Anyone who supported this guy should feel a bit more than uncomfortable, betrayed and outraged at the betrayal seem more fitting reactions.

Typical left wing MO: Smear, besmirch, and destroy the character of the accuser. Truth is meaningless in their world, the end always justifies the means.

This has been their tact for years, especially after Clinton took office. It really does nothing to dissuade from the fact that Jordan lied and was exposed.

Honestly, can anyone be surprised, it is their way after all.

Gannon became a target of liberal bloggers after he asked President Bush at a news conference last month a loaded and inaccurate question about how he could deal with Senate Democrats "who seem to have divorced themselves from reality."

Inaccurate?? WTF, the only thing "inaccurate" about the question was the "soup line" misquote, the premise of the question was true.

What if he'd asked this question?

How can the dems in one breath say "this is the worst economy since Herbert Hoover" and in the next breath say "Social Security is rock solid"?

So when it's a liberal, then sex is private and homosexuality is not only okay but endorsed. But when it's a conservative, the rules are completely different.

If this was a liberal reporter at the WH, the left never would have outted him this way.

This is a new low for the Washington Post.

I'm guessing you're part of a posse of clowns. My, my. You disagree with other FReepers around here and what do you get? You get a response we could expect from the Left. How about some legitimate debate instead of name-calling?

What are you afraid of? Seeing that Gannon/Guskert photos are indeed him? That he may have LIED about being more than just the web designer?

Yes, there are complications and implications far beyond the 'gay' issue here, but unless you look for the truth and deal with it, the Left will take the lies and run with 'em. They'll turn Gannon into the Valerie Plame 'outer' and not only blow this into a grand scale scandal but protect the people who are truly responsible.

We can't expect to just ignore what is being presented as fact and then hope it will go away. This has the capability of touching the administration and preparing the way for their planned impeachment proceedings; it's the flower girl dropping her petals as she makes her way down the aisle. They're busy making one big stinking bouquet for President Bush.

I'm with you, trumandogz, and I await my own list of pejorative posts from the FReepers with Blinders Club.

I do not know Jeff..I of course did not jump all over him when this first started as I did not know about the pictures and the "escort" accusation. I could not trust the sources for one thing. I now believe he was less than honest about the sites ever being "active"..I do not know absolutely all that this blogger says is correct..but I do say it looks damning..

I am not personally feeling " betrayed" because I just wasn't personally lied to..I did not vote for him, campaign for him or give him money.

I am under no illusions that everyone who happens to write something I agree with is a saint and realize indeed may be a scoundrel..

I am disappointed and, as I have said..I'll get over my feelings and forget about Gannon long before Gannon gets over this expose. He was a small blip on the screen.
