A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) - 2.15.05
Yahoo.com, Whitehouse.gov | 2.15.05 | ohioWfan

Posted on 02/15/2005 4:23:46 PM PST by ohioWfan

The President had no formal appearances today, but in a 98-0 decision, nominee Michael Chertoff was confirmed as the new Secretary of Homeland Security by the Senate. President Bush signed a declaration that Ohio is a major disaster area due to a severe ice storm, heavy snow flooding and mudslides (it's still a mess here!). First Lady Laura Bush spoke today at the 2005 Community College National Legislative Summit in Washington.

The Dems are on the run and losing ground. It's a GREAT Day to be a Bushbot, so ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!!

Psalm 118

    1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
       For His mercy endures forever.
       2Let Israel now say,
       "His mercy endures forever."
       3Let the house of Aaron now say,
       "His mercy endures forever."
       4Let those who fear the LORD now say,
       "His mercy endures forever."
       5I called on the LORD in distress;
       The LORD answered me and set me in a broad place.
       6The LORD is on my side;
       I will not fear.
       What can man do to me?
       7The LORD is for me among those who help me;
       Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me.
       8It is better to trust in the LORD
       Than to put confidence in man.
       9It is better to trust in the LORD
       Than to put confidence in princes.
       10All nations surrounded me,
       But in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
       11They surrounded me,
       Yes, they surrounded me;
       But in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
       12They surrounded me like bees;
       They were quenched like a fire of thorns;
       For in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
       13You pushed me violently, that I might fall,
       But the LORD helped me.
       14The LORD is my strength and song,
       And He has become my salvation.
       15The voice of rejoicing and salvation
       Is in the tents of the righteous;
       The right hand of the LORD does valiantly.
       16The right hand of the LORD is exalted;
       The right hand of the LORD does valiantly.
       17I shall not die, but live,
       And declare the works of the LORD.

       28You are my God, and I will praise You;
       You are my God, I will exalt You.
       29Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
       For His mercy endures forever.

Berkeley County is where we are looking. As far as my business, I'm looking to sell it and never look back. I will probably go work for someone else in the autobody trade and setup a shop at home to do high dollar restorations. My wife and I planned our retirement to start when we turned 55, but we're dealing with some health issues, and just in case, I want to make sure my wife is not left with a Shop to close down and two house payments to deal with.

We don't have Meijers here. Too bad. My mouth still waters over the scones with clotted cream and jam. I can get scones and jam, but the clotted cream eludes me.
Much to the good of my weight, of course.

IMHO, George W. Bush will surpass Reagan's legacy if the Middle East sees peace for the first time in 1000 years

Noticed on your tag your congrats to Mickelson. He is a local golfer here. He sure had a great win Sun.

A friend (male, excellent athlete) turned me to a pro-golf lover, and "back in the days when" Phil was struggling and undergoing those tortuous "almost won a major" experiences, I repeatedly had an unusual experience: I would feel strongly burdened to pray for his game. I would pray him through the tournaments. Now, I should mention this is not typical behavior for me, and I have never golfed beyond the local putt-putt joke courses. There was one tourny when he, a second golfer, and Frank Lichtliter (sp?) were in a three-way tie playoff for first. I just kept praying and praying and praying for him to focus, to know how to address the ball, etc., and he won. I felt such a breakthrough for him that day.

This has continued (me praying for him and his family) and I was soooo thrilled when he won his first major. Did you see him play that day? The smile on his face as he walked to the last hole, the look of confidence, was a thrill for me to watch. He KNEW he was going to win, even though it still was possible for him to blow the shot and take second place. He said after he won that he knew that this was his day.

The moral of this story? I guess it's that we never know how many others are holding us up, in victory, in defeat, in good times and bad.

Yes. When a re-enactment is held, it's usually for a whole weekend and involves camping out for a couple of days. I don't sleep in tents anymore because of arthritis. Now I sleep in my private railroad car (aka camper trailer) if I do go to a weekend event. But my favorite thing is the balls.

Drudge has a story up that there will be a new nuclear sub to be christened "Jimmy Carter." It's inevitable as all previous presidents get some sort of vessel named after them and Carter captained a nuclear sub, but oh! those poor folks who have to say where they are deployed ...
