A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) - 2.15.05

The President had no formal appearances today, but in a 98-0 decision, nominee Michael Chertoff was confirmed as the new Secretary of Homeland Security by the Senate. President Bush signed a declaration that Ohio is a major disaster area due to a severe ice storm, heavy snow flooding and mudslides (it's still a mess here!). First Lady Laura Bush spoke today at the 2005 Community College National Legislative Summit in Washington.

The Dems are on the run and losing ground. It's a GREAT Day to be a Bushbot, so ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!!

According to the MSM, the fact that the President replaced avid running with avid off-road bike riding is a sure sign that he's a maniac.

Good way to look at things...luckily the house is clean so I can just sit on my rear and relax!

Wow, you have to wonder whether someone like that will last through the term without dropping dead of a heart attack. That has got to be an extremely stressful, demanding job to begin with.

That's OK; I already opened the windows and turned on the AC and I'm drinking ice water. :-)

Did you see where he uses an MP3player and listens to VanMorrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" when he rides his bike? I heard some version of the song today (don't know who was singing!) and thought of that and had to drive around the block till the song was over. LOL! I've always loved the song but even more now.

Yes.........the question is, why does one who is trying to be 'healthy' carry it to the extreme so that he is UNhealthy.

I'm not saying that Chertoff is a health freak, but he has the telltale signs of one who goes to the extreme and ends up losing his health.

I hope that's not the case with him. He's younger than I am, and he looks 20 years older.

Yes, my darling husband pays a seamstress, who specializes in civil war garb, to make me some very nice ball gowns.

You mean starved to death??

Hi Kath. Yeah, I know. Trying to be polite, but what you say is true. The guy's skin appears sallow and dry, and he looks like someone who is not taking in enough nutrition to keep him alive. Let's face it, it's an unkind world, and Chertoff is not going to look very good representing the admin on TV. Everybody will wonder why the President doesn't pay the guy enough for him to get three squares a day. Sigh.

I don't see how they can relate healthy activities with "mania." But then, when a certain pres. compulsively lied and we all know what else, they were happy to look the other way and make a million excuses. Go figure.

He was featured in a Runners' World magazine, so some of those are scanned from our copy, and some are from when it was posted on their website.

Believe it or not, my son actually gets the magazine. :o) It was a really good article about what a good runner he is/was before his knees broke down and he had to start biking.

But he bikes at the clip of 1,000 calories per hour! YIKES!

I know nominees have to go through rigorous background checks, but I don't know if they have to get physicals. One would be a good idea in Chertoff's case.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...good one! The MSM, which is mostly crowded along the "power corridor" from NYC to DC, simply does not know what to make of our Texas cowboy.

...he looks 20 years older.

Worse. He almost looks like a refugee from a concentration camp. All he'd need to do would be to lose a few more pounds.
