The President had no formal appearances today, but in a 98-0 decision, nominee Michael Chertoff was confirmed as the new Secretary of Homeland Security by the Senate. President Bush signed a declaration that Ohio is a major disaster area due to a severe ice storm, heavy snow flooding and mudslides (it's still a mess here!). First Lady Laura Bush spoke today at the 2005 Community College National Legislative Summit in Washington.
The Dems are on the run and losing ground. It's a GREAT Day to be a Bushbot, so ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!!
That's a surprise. Chertoff was part of the legal team investigating Whitewater.
A guy I work with gets all dolled up and goes to the Civil War re-enactments. He is always urging me to come along, but then he is one of those dudes who is always hitting on you, so I don't know how much fun it would be!
Hello to you!
Well, I guess those pictures just prove global warming is the President's fault. LOL!
Thanks, snugs. There doesn't seem to be much in-depth biographical info on him around on the internet.
Nice to have a break from cooking/cleaning and all that, once in awhile.
I just meant that his voice sounded like Bill Clinton's voice, even his accent, not what he was saying. It was really weird.
That is, unless they accidentally slipped a tape of Clinton in there!
Yes--I'm so bad at names. But Dr. Phil was berating him on the previews . . . and then asking Victoria what she was thinking being with him.
Did you have a good day? How's Brandon?
I take it you'll be wearing Civil War apparal, ala Scarlett O'Hara?
Well, we already knew that, didn't we? We just didn't know exactly why.
Well, sometimes the "gentlemen" try out their manners and it just comes across as "smarmy"! I love the balls because I love to dance. I don't go "to the field" much anymore.
Amen to YOUR Amen! :o)
Now we know why. Curious, isn't it??? I always thought it was the fault of SUV's, but actually it's bicycles and just plain running. HHHMMMMM.
Oh, thanks for the clarification. From every available description of Chertoff, he's fiery (meaning he has a temper), a tough bulldog, and the severe workaholic type who probably runs himself ragged. Severe 'A'-type personality. Probably explains why he's so sickly looking.
Unh huh..........NICE one, isn't it?
I've considered going to a reenactment but I would definitely NOT go to a dance with this guy. Yikes!
That would be a hoot, though!
You mean starved to death??
Fan, anyone?? ;o)
wowsie.. those are some great pix ohio.. thanks. He looks so great in athletic clothes.
I would like to stay around but I cannot keep my eyes open.. very busy past couple of days.... all good stuff for a change.. fun & uplifing. A most exotic & wonderful V evening. Black tie but NOT at white house .
Buts the body needs to recharge...
I have been thinking of DR Deb.. has she posted? The last post I read from her over a week ago, sounded like her brother only had hours or days to live. Bad infrection resulting from marrow transplant
Hope you all have a nice evening..
That's my story and I'm sticking to it ;)
Thanks for the pic's! Hope you had a lovely day.
