I must have missed your observations about whisperers and back biters mentioned in Romans 1:29-30. Hah. Nice try.
Have fun.

Actually, Rush hasn't been fat for a long time. It's one thing he can thank Marta for. She took charge of his diet once they were married.

"Rush is NEVER wrong, according to Rush"
I think his perceived arrogance is a show, it's part of the Rush on air persona. If he were really obnoxious in person I doubt he would be as sought after as he is.

Actually, Rush hasn't been fat for a long time.I saw him on TV last weekend. He's a lard ass again.
It's one thing he can thank Marta for. She took charge of his diet once they were married.
Ummm, no, he took charge of it, with OxyContin. It ruined his hearing but made him skinny for a time. And he is now classified as a drug abuser.

Moral relativists do disagree with Romans 1:29-30, and also pooh-pooh verse 32, but that doesn't change reality.
And for you, reality is that gossiping is just as bad or worse as commiting adultery on a spouse. For me, (and many others, I'd wager), it isn't. I would much rather someone who I didn't necessarily care about talked about me than have someone who pledged to be faithful to me cheat on me.
I'm curious though. Do you believe commiting murder also equivalent to those acts? Or blasphemy? Just wondering...

Comedy is both insane and in pain. Robin Williams hasn't been remotely funny since he got off cocaine.

Actually, as long as Rush doesn't "marry" a man, I could care less about what he does with his personal life. Oh, it's great fodder for the gossip mongers, but other than dropping a load of money on the necktie business and a "magazine", I haven't seen any evidence of it affecting his beliefs or convictions.
You go, Rush.

They're both sins. In God's eyes, they are both awful.
We've got a lot of high and mighty types around here. Its disappointing.

Now that looks like a real vixen.
Very charming.

I've never heard him comment on divorce or drug use, other than his own, and I've been listening since 1989. I have a real problem with people that use phrases like "Rush was an addict", "Rush did illegal things". I am speaking of his pain from his back trouble.
When you have serious pain in the back, Vicodin is not much better than Gummy Bears. I would fault Rush for having some pretty incompetent Doctors for treating his back problems....no wonder he was trying to get enough prescription medicine to keep him going. You can go thru a lot of pills if you are taking them at the rate of one an hour....

So anyone that tries to treat their pain with OxyContin is a drug abuser? No, and I never implied that. Rush admitted he was a drug abuser, now what?
BTW, I hope you aren't buying that "pain" bs. It was to lose weight. But you can believe what you want, I can't prove it.

Here's "MY" reality:
Of course some "sins" are worse than others in that they have more harmful consequences in our lives and in the lives of others, but I wasn't referring to sin in that sense. I was referring to the "legal standing" a person has with God as long as he views them as a "sinner".
According to God, sin is any failure to conform to his moral law in act, attitude, or nature.
In light of that reality, there is no one who does not commit sin (as defined by God). That is the POINT I was making. DUH!
We wouldn't even be talking about this subject if one of the above-referenced sinners on here hadn't piously labeled Rush a "fat-assed" sinner.
When the pot calls the kettle black, it's ludricrous. Get it?

AGAIN?!?!?
How is a serial monogamist different from a polygamist or plain old adulterer in the eyes of God?
It's gross and sick.

I started listening to Rush when I was three years old and he was my hero. But I just can't look at him the same way now. He breaks my heart. If he had only ever criticized Bill Clinton on economic issues, I'd be able to trust him more than I do now.
Or maybe if he hadn't made fun of Ted Kennedy's philandering. But when you pretend you have some right to call someone else on their treatment of women or morality and your own behavior is terrible, your credibility goes out the window. And to have to deal with that AND his softness on abortion issues AND his rambling on and on about sports on a political talk show...well...it isn't for me. If I want to listen to a hypocrite, I'll listen to Michael Savage. He doesn't talk about sports, he's not too soft and he has an interesting accent.
To: srm913
I have to agree, he hasn't had much luck or success in the marriage arena. I hope it works with Daryn if they get to that point. I remember after his second divorce, thinking wouldn't it be nice to be the next Mrs. Limbaugh. I guess he has someone in mind this time.

I am Bic Pentameter
I am the town janitor
Because I ate hamburger
I increased my diameter
Til the sweetest girl I ever knew
Said you're too fat, I won't go with you!
So I moved heaven and earth
To decrease my girth
And though I did it to spite her
Now she calls me Bic Lighter.
I wrote this during high school, when I was assigned to write a poem in iambic pentameter. Oh, well, you know what they say: a poet in the 18th century is a genius; a poet in the next room is a bum.
