LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton won the second Grammy Award of his career on Sunday, when he was honored in the spoken word category for his best-selling memoir "My Life."

Clinton, who was not present to accept his award at the Los Angeles Convention Center, also won a Grammy last year in the spoken word

Yes its pretty obvious that some Bubba groupie gave him the award hoping he would show up to collect it and they could stick their brown nosing head up his rectum.

The fact that spoken word is even a category shows why I stopped caring about the Grammys a long long time ago.

how did his book do anyway? I never really heard anyone praising the book after it came out. There was a lot of hype the weeks before it came out.

Funny, one of the MOST irritating things about clinton is his voice. And he wins a Grammy for the spoken word. It must really suck to be hollywood and have such obvious tripe with which to stick it to ordinary Americans. Slim pickins indeed.

The way that many fall oll over Clinton to praise the guy, I'm surprised that he didn't win a Nobel Peace Prize for showing Monica Lewinski how to "brush her teeth" in the name of oral hygiene!

Heh heh heh......a Grammy Award.

He'd do better with a "Montgomery Burns Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence."
---It's worth more, and I think you get a ham.

The Grammys have always been just another vehicle to give the middle finger to Republicans and BJs to Democrats, just like the Academy Awards. Next we'll really get a shock and "Rolling Stone" magazine will have him on the cover again.

This is why Conservatives need to pool their money and buy airtime to host something like the "Family Television Awards," or "Patriot Awards," or "Excellence in Entertainment Awards." It's about time the real heroes in Music, Art, Cinema, and Television get their due.

I wonder how many Grammys Rush Limbaugh has won for "spoken word" with his almost unbeatably best-selling books and audio books. Well-spoken, eloquent, and massively purchased.......nah, it's not about politics - it's about talent!

He'll get a Nobel Peace Prize, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Polk, a Peabody, and a Pulitzer before all is said and done. Just give them time.....

What a joke the Grammys are anyway. Does anyone even write their own music or play instruments anymore? Even the hip-hop stars don't do their own mixing or lyrics...and hip-hop wins ALL of the awards every year! Glam rock may have gotten a bad wrap in the 80s, but they're all practically Beethovens compared to what's out there today!

I think my head would explode if I had to listen to Clintbilly reading from "My Life."

For those interested in the spoken word, I warmly recommend the MP3 novels that can be bought at the Worldtainment corporation. Their two readers are absolute masters of the spoken word.

I do a lot of commuting, and there's nothing like listening to a novel by Dickens or Jane Austen to take your mind off the tedium. Good price, too. But you do need an MP3 player--now fairly widely available.

Oh, don't be so cynical! I mean, their CD cover jackets say they all write their songs, so I believe it. Also, I saw this artist on Saturday Night Live, and she sounded just like her CD--now that takes talent.

Well, I wouldn't be so quick to count him out of the running for a Nobel, considering past recipients which include Kofi Anan, Jimmy Carter, the United Nations, and Yasser Arafat, in no particular order.

Post #15 is correct. It's more than bestowing awards upon artists who truly deserve the recognition. In the grand scheme of things, who cares, except for that small group of insiders who live in that Hollywood bubble.

I do believe that man who stole the Oscar's a couple years back had the right idea by tossing them into the dumpster where they belong. Total rubbish.

chasing little girls

Let's be fair. Clinton has never been linked to underage girls. Clinton only raped and sexually harrassed big girls.

Bill always wins an award in the oral category.

Shouldn't that award go to Monica :)
