The students were so adoring, one even had a little break-down during 'question-time', telling Churchill how much he admired him (the kid went on so long, Churchill was obliged to cut him off and it was cryingly pathetic). Also there was this really disturbing, almost fascist like atmosphere, as the blogger notes, with apparent body-guards staring down the completely friendly crowd.
Churchill himself was creepy in a way that is hard to describe. It was like seeing the musculature and the bare bones of arrogant evil, animated. Maybe that seems hyperbolic to say, but it was transfixing, and especially scary because his audience so obviously regarded him as a victim/hero. I'll never forget it.
You have seen the face of evil my FRiend. Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil.
C-Span has replayed that garbage several times since Tuesday...I can only take it in small doses.
I'd like to know if they kept dissenting voices against physco-Ward out of the building.
Also- those fat security guards looked like a bunch of aged Hell's Angles clowns who have not scene their schween's in a decade they are so fat!
There's something very David Koresh about Ward.
I have to say that I'm sorry I missed this even though I do not generally enjoy train wrecks. Thanks for the report.
Churchill is pure scum and taxpayers should not be paying him to spread his faux-analysis of politics. Critiques are one thing, but this guy spouts propabanda, and that cannot be in line with his responsibilities as a professor. On the other hand, he should not be turned into a martyr for free speech, it only strengthens his hand, and I am sure he is loving the attention. When this is said and done, sensible people will see him for what he is, and he will marginalize himself even more. Aside from his lackeys, students should be speaking out against him, conservatives and liberals. They after-all, are also paying for his tripe.
I stumbled on the very end and watched for a few minutes in awe. It wasn't so much like watching an accident, it was more like watching parallel parking at its worst.
And the very last thing Churchill yelled at the end was, believe it or not, "Power to the people!"
Isn't that just so seventies.
Excellent, he serves the right-minded thinkers very well. The more he talks the better.
Farrakhan syndrome.
LOL! Churchill looks like Tony Perkins' mother in Psycho!
Can you say putz?
I want this Churchill dope paraded around for all to see.
Yes, it is the true face of the left. If others leftists arent saying what he says, they are thinking it. Let everyone know what they are about.
And from this morning..................

I'm Post #7.
```I've looked for commentary about Ward Churchill's rally,```
And then this turd, who just can't wait for the destruction of the US, is one of the leftists America haters who stand up and say "How DARE you question my patriotism?"
Unbelievable. I heard a liberal caller on one of the right wing talk talk shows actually try to say that Churchhill was a RIGHT WINGER and a CONSERVATIVE! I think it was the same guy who tried to argue that Osama would vote for Bush because Osama was afraid of Kerry (being the he-man PH hunter that he was, and all).
Let's look around his office and see:
Yup! Crayon-type drawings and spray paint all over the place. You pegged it!
"If this is the face of the Left today, they havent much of a future. Pathetic."
They run a French loser like Kerry for president, their ideological lights are the likes of Michael Moron and Wade "The Fraud" Churchill, Dan Rather is dumb enough to run with clearly-faked memos, and Eason Jordan is chowderheaded enough to defame the U.S. military in front of a senator and a congressman. Plus they keep pushing gay marriage, which 80% of America recoils from in horror.
It's no bloody wonder we're beating them like a drum - they're STUPID!
I watched Churchill on CSPAN for about 15 minutes -- it was all I could take. I think his audience, with their power salutes and their adulation, were creepier than Churchill was. Churchill's just a relic. He would be laughable if he weren't twisting young minds.
The thing that strikes me most when I see Churchill is what an intellectual lightweight he is. You come away with that impression if you read his speeches and other works on the web, but when you see him give a speech, it really hits home. This guy is a dullard. It's hard to overstate how unworthy he is of teaching at any university, let alone a major one -- let alone heading a department!
As for the audience, it was filled with mindless kids supporting their victim-professor (though I noticed some young people who seemed to be laughing). I think a lot of us can remember being a liberal twit at that age, so I have hope that with age will come wisdom. I do wish that some of the Indian groups who have come out against Churchill would be more vocal about it. I think that would make a difference with CU students. Imagine an anti-Ward Churchill rally in Boulder sponsored by Cherokees, Oneidas, and others he's offended.
