In the Blogosphere, Lightning Strikes Thrice
MD4Bush posted, "Yeah, he cheats on his wife. I heard that he is not allowed in the house and is living in some new high-rise near city hall."
link
NCPAC posted that no one can figure out how he was outed.

What we do know-- MD4Bush was the source of some FR mails the WP got. You can see that from his gloating posts on 02/08/2005.
link Looking back at his posts now he was a provacatuer and is from MD.
link. The only reasonable surmise is that this was a Democratic partisan in the area. Nobody outside the MD area is going to be interested in something like this. At the time of the threads on O'Mally we had several new posters commenting on it and they have not been back.

The Law of the Blogger -- This is why I switched from legacy media to the web as my primary news source. You cannot get away with inaccuracies, spin, or even a mild manipulation of readers like this without someone immediately taking you to task. This is why the Blogisphere is so much more reliable than the legacy media.

The idiot Democrats figured they would use the truth (New Media) to their advantage.
They were wrong. I imagine some IP traces are being conducted from CA as we speak.

I regret to add this, but this also shows how easy it is for the Democrats to invalidate the content on this board. A few 'newbies' can try and smear an entire site, and they can have the Washington comPost back them up on it.
I bet the comPost has a major role in this, and I'd guess this wasn't a crapshoot.

Bookmarked!
What amazes me is that they used FR like this.
We would not be interested in this inane gossip about a dem mayor, so that sorta misdirected me until I figured out they were setting up the Governors hatchet man, according to what they believed him to be.
They claim he was cleaning out the dem partisans from the admin.
It was pay back. It was a skirmish which they won.
I was impressed!

This board is validated in my eyes.
I see this as an attack by the MSM to keep their own tepid hold on the education of the ignorant masses.
A nice try by the MSM, but I think they will find that this will backfire on them once the truth comes out.

There have apparently been nearly a dozen WashPost articles about this situation, its more coverage than they gave the Iraqi election, the downfall of Eason Jordan or Dan Rather...

I'm seeing this like you except I also believe this was done to show that the 'blogs' (of which FR doesn't qualify) are supposedly full of rumor and innuendo. This means they are all worthless to the MSM. A well done salvo, yet it needs to be defended vigorously.
I can only hope that some IP traces were conducted by JimRob and the crew.

The evidence that NCPAC will need to file his expected libel suit against certain parties is accumulating qute nicely...

Traced to a dial-up.
What a surprise! j/k
The positive of this is that the Wash comPost sees itself in a battle for survival with a website that is made up of ordinary folk commenting and dissecting the 'news'.
That, to me, says it all. We are winning, and the elites are meeting us at eye level. Says a lot, eh?

Sure does, and the press on FR has really not been that bad from what I see.(unless you can point me to something I have not seen)
Most of it seems to mention the FR name and some mistake it as a blog, but none seemed to infer that we were anything more than a vehicle for the transactions.
It seems to me that rabid dems might be interested, but no one else.
I may be wrong, but if they were really trying to hit blogs, or trash FR, they would do better.
Perhaps it is the risk of a law suit however.
If I am off base, let me know. I have not read all the stories. But I have seen other stories of late, that do seem to demonize blogs. They do come from MSM sources, but don't seem to have much effect.
They really trashed that guy from Talon however.

You DC Freepers should all get together and buy ONE copy of the ComPost for posterity. The paper has gone totally nuts on this NCPAC thing.
