Pretty much every day, Gannon got cleared into the White House briefing room by a press office that knew his real name. Press Secretary Scott McClellan frequently called on him during the mid-day briefings, using his fake name. McClellan was consistently rewarded with questions that -- in stark contrast from most of what passes for questions in that room -- were more expressions of conservative dogma than actual attempts to elicit information. Members of the press corps individually confronted Gannon and told him that he didn't belong there. But nothing more serious than that happened -- until Bush called on him at his televised Jan. 26 news conference and he asked a loaded, inaccurate question partly derived from a Rush Limbaugh joke.
In the ensuing days, liberal Web sites and an army of bloggers determined his real name, called attention to his lack of journalistic credentials, found a link to gay porn Web sites, pointed out how that ran afoul of his "family values" positions, and apparently hounded him into resigning.
Brooks writes: "Bloggers also discovered that several gay pornographic domain names had been registered through his domain.
"Guckert said he registered those domain names for a client while he was working to set up a Web hosting business in Wilmington.
" 'There are people out there who will turn people's lives inside out,' Guckert said. 'They tried to intimidate me, punish me. Then they tried to embarrass me, and they've done a pretty good job of that.' "

Ahhhhhhhh yes...
Like THIS question that was asked on 2-1-05
Q Scott, last night, in an amicus brief filed before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Justice Department came down in favor of displaying the Ten Commandments in courthouses and statehouses around the country. The question is, does the President believe in commandment number six, "Thou shalt not kill," as it applies to the U.S. invasion in Iraq?
Washington Post, eh?
Are there any credible sources that have run this story?
However, there is no excuse whatsoever to credential a reporter under a fake name. This breech of security is not only a threat to the President but a further threat to an already corrupt media. If Clinton had a White House reporter using a Fake Name tossing his easier questions than ABC, CNN etc the right would be livid.
Conservatives have much more dignity than liberals and should not have a reporter promoting the President's agenda while also promoting the homosexual agenda under a fake name.
It is legit question! So is the WH press corps only supposed to attack the President? They seem to be confusing attacking the President with reporting facts, but hey, its never stopped them before.
You know, I've watched a fair amount of these press briefings, and the above
describes Les Kinsolving's style rather than Gannon's........which leads me to
believe that this is more of a gay, vs. ideological outing.
I should note I can't remember who asked that, but I know it wasn't Gannon. And Scott didn't answer it, he just moved on to the next person...
'If Gannon/Guckert was involved with gay prostitute websites, then I'm damn glad they ran him out of town!!!
Why do you immediately believe the proven liars?
Gannon/Guckert said he ran a domain registration business, NOT a porn business. He did the same, as what register.com does, register domain names. He said so, but of course, the MSM don't want to tell you the whole truth, just use enough of it, to create a false impression.
Regarding Gannon's questions,I have a few times watched press conferences of Daschle, etc. on C-Span. The questions are EXACTLY like Gannon's to Bush, only from the left. The reporters feed the dems straight out liberal red meat and encourage the dems to make stronger and stronger accusations against Bush and the republicans. It's like watching an alternate universe in which the dems still run everything, the republicans are criminals, and the whole country is taken to be left wing.
LOL!
You can always tell Scott McClellan braces for Les's questions...
It is truly amazing what the media can found out if they are half interested. Yet, they(CBS) didn't realize they had fake documents?!? No biased journalism here.
I call for a congressional investigation into the political affiliations and personal lives of all "journalists"! Yes, let's find out all the google searched, speculative, assumptive, dirty details of every person in America who call themselves a "journalist"!
" If Clinton had a White House reporter using a Fake Name tossing his easier questions than ABC, CNN etc the right would be livid."
Clinton already had all the MSM throwing him soft questions.
I think it is pretty funny that the compost can run an article about scandal in the press corps, and it NOT be about CNN's news executive falsely accusing our troops of deliberately murdering journalists in Iraq. The press corps is deliberately working with the enemies of both America and freedom. THAT is a scandal in the press corps.
I think all the Bloggers need to start applying for day passes. If the Liberals in the press core act like THIS to ONE question that doesn't attack the President and disparages their heros with the Truth, I'd like to see how they handle an army of Bloggers turning the questioning on them.
You are swallowing the MSM's lies.
Gannon did NOT promote any homosexual agenda, he had nothing to do with those sites -- he ran a business registering domain names -- no different than register.com. He said so and is quoted in the article. He had nothing to do with those sites.
That's why my sentence began with "IF". If he is not involved with them, he needs to be a man and punch back.
And look at the WPost's recent record, from DrudgeReport:
WHITE HOUSE BLASTS WASHINGTON POST -- AGAIN
Wed Feb 09 2005 17:25:59 ET
For the second time in less than a week, the White House has issued a rare public demand for The WASHINGTON POST to correct high impact stories about the cost of President Bush's domestic initiatives. The POST caved last Thursday after the White House savaged reporter Jonathan Weisman's article on Social Security (?Benefit Cuts Would Offset Contributions?). Not only did the POST run a correction, but Weisman wrote an entire story correcting his earlier account.
The bad blood boiled over again today when the POST led its editions with a story about Medicare costs by Ceci Connolly and Mike Allen (?Medicare Drug Benefit May Cost $1.2 Trillion?). The White House issued a scathing attack on the story, coupled with a demand for a fresh correction. A second correction would be a major journalistic embarrassment for the POST, which the White House argues is providing ammunition to Democrats for use in baseless attacks against the president.

So he just made money by hosting gay/porn sites. Ok, that's much better.
He didn't use false information, he got his press pass using his legit ID.
"Gannon said yesterday that he had applied for the background check and White House daily passes under the name on his driver's license, not his ''professional name." He asserted he got no special consideration."
