Senator Calls for Release of Comments by CNN News Chief By Marc Morano CNSNews.com Senior Staff Writer February 10, 2005
Washington (CNSNews.com) - A member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said Wednesday the videotaped comments of a CNN news executive claiming that U.S. troops in Iraq had targeted journalists should be released. The senator also condemned the remarks, saying they could provide fodder for enemies of the United States.
Sen. George Allen (R-Va.) called the comments by Eason Jordan, the head of CNN's news division, "outrageous and wrong," and said he wants to see the videotape of Jordan making the comments.
"I guarantee if any other official or person, a public official, made a statement like that, even if they were retracting it, they would say 'Hey, this is recorded, this is taped.' I think we ought to see what he said," Allen told Cybercast News Service.

Maybe the Boston Globe should assign the two crack reporters who started investigating Jeff Gannon.

If he didn't say it as he claims then just release the video and it will prove he's telling the truth. But, of course, he did say it and is trying to cover up. Isn't it amazing how the "journalists" want to pry into everybody else's affairs but don't want their comments aired in public.
I hope they keep demanding the video be released.

This story is proving to have legs and I don't think Jordan can stonewall on the release of the tape much longer. Hope his resume is up to date, although he will probably get a position at NPR or PBS.

If the tape exonerates him, then why withhold it? I think the tape must be very damning, maybe not just to Jordan but also to Dodd, Frank, and Gergen.

Well .. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd have said that Jordan made the statements - and they are (surprisingly) outraged.
