Good way to put it- there are more of us than there are of them...
Thanks for looking.
1. They got Jeff Gannon.
2. We got Eason Jordan.
3. We got Dan Rather (I mean, WE at FR, really got Dan Rather).
And, the funny thing is, Jeff Gannon is being called to the carpet for a) not using his real name, b) concealing his conservative "agenda", and c) being involved in homosexual porn websites.
Let's see...not using his real name? Is this the disqualifying factor for being a reporter or journalist? What say you Larry King (real name Larry Zieger)? Should Whitaker Chambers (real name: Jay Vivian Chambers) have been exalted by the left for all those years? (Of course, that was prior of course to his outing of the Rosenbergs and all of the other Soviet agents that had infiltrated the State Department? His real name, identify, and ties didn't seem important until he took up against the leftist/communist agenda. (Ask Ann Coulter if you don't believe me).
Second, everyone here on this forum "knew" that Jeff Gannon (whatever his real name is) was likely more conservative than liberal. I'm not so sure about the lefty plant angle to discredit the so-called "conservative media". And, on its face, the only thing odd about Jeff Gannon is that he is outnumbered 99-2 in the Washington Press Corps and he asks moderately fair questions.
And the media leftists are complaining, complaining about what? That someone thought to ask a fair or even moderately conservative question? Just because all the rest of the WH Press Kook's questions are dripping (and I mean, DRIPPING) with disdain, sarcasm, or out right leftist/terrorist/anti-American propaganda means that a marginally fair question is conservative? What planet are these people living on?
Third, and I'm frankly surprised that they aren't giving Jeff Gannon an award for bravery.
I'm mean David Brock, one of the chief architects behind this attack, is a pole-smoker. He's not standing up for this guy or sympathizing with Gannon's alledged hypocrisy? He's no citing the crushing pressure of anti-gay bigotry and pleading for understanding, acceptance, tolerance and a myriad of other words which denote the ever-dredged judgemental nature of our society. No tolerance from David for Jeff closet tendencies?
No, out goes the tolerance, in with the skewers.
And, Jeff Gannon/Jim Guckert has said that he was doing the websites for clients. Essentially that he wasn't into it. Even if that isn't true and he does like looking at guys play bun darts, I don't care.
The strange thing is: of all the questions that have been asked by the White House Press Corps in the last year, it took an alledgely closet-gay-porn-producing, daily-credentialed, psuedonym-using guy to ask moderately fair questions.
Jeez...makes you wonder what the real faults that these other kooks running around the WH Press Corps have?
If the questions are indicative of how F'd up someone is, then David Gregory should report to his psychologist boyfriend right now, "therapy" is ready to start.
Terri (fem. Terry) Moron (real spelling for Moran) should go ahead and admit that he has secret desires to blow a now-captive Saddam Hussein, hoping to substitute for 1 of the 72 virgins that pretty much everyone on the planet knews none of these scumbags have coming to them.
I don't even want to fathom how F'd up that hag Helen Thomas is. If she is the paragon of White House Press Corps virtue, then the press corps has been long in trouble.
[mattdono shakes head] These people.
How do I link to this brilliant New York Sun article without looking like I'm motivated by jealousy? As soon as I heard Wonkette and Andrew Sullivan were CNN's picks to represent "the blogosphere" in their State of the Union coverage, I was grumbling. Sure, I'd love to appear as a TV pundit. But even more important than my fragile ego is the fact that there are dozens of bloggers who could probably give more interesting and substantive SOTU reaction [snip]
