Confessions from a Former Homosexual

By Richard Weller

When I was 17 years old I was recruited into the gay lifestyle by an older homosexual man. Like so many young people who get drawn into homosexuality, I was lonely, naive and vulnerable. My father was an alcoholic. My self-esteem was very low. I was easy prey for anyone who was willing to exploit my need for a fathers love.

It started as a conversation in a Greyhound Bus Depot, and ended eleven years and six homosexual relationships later.

I tried imitating others when they said they were born gay, I would say "me too"! It seemed an easy way to get people to accept us. If we were born gay that took away any personal responsibility for our behavior and made people feel sorry for us. All along though, we knew it was a convenient lie.

I love and respect myself today, but I hate the things that I used to do. Homosexual sexuality is perverse and unhealthy, both physically and emotionally. We put on such a respectable image, but inside we were miserable and ashamed. Like many young gays, I tried to commit suicide because I didn't think there was a way out.

Today I am living proof that homosexuals can and do change. I was as deep in the lifestyle as anyone. I spent nine years with my piano teacher and even thought about getting "married." I was 100% gay, now I am 100% recovered from that sick and twisted life. They call it "gay", but I wasn't gay at all, I was miserable. I can't think of a more miserable way of life.

Some people believe that compassion for homosexuals means approving of their lifestyle, but I thank God that others still have the guts to insist that it's wrong, otherwise I might still be trapped. Every time I hear someone talk approvingly of homosexuality, or see them go along  with the idea of "gay rights" it breaks my heart, because I know it's like slamming the escape door on so many. It is especially painful to watch the radical gays manipulate their own parents and relatives into endorsing the gay political agenda.

Though I am 46 years old now, and I left the "gay life" when I was 29, the media "spin" on homosexuality makes me feel that I can't stay silent anymore! It's time for someone who knows the real truth from the "inside" to step forward and tell it like it is. I am just one of many ex-gays in Oregon. Perhaps if I speak up, they will overcome their fears and do likewise.

I support, and am very concerned about Lon Mabon, of our Oregon Citizens Alliance. He has been in jail now for over 35 days, partly for not paying a judgment against the OCA incurred by a lesbian rights activist. Lon has challenged the judges oath and was thrown into jail for civil contempt. The gay rights activist claims that harm was done to her when she was forced to leave an OCA meeting. The criminal trespass issue was not allowed to be brought up in court. The judge was biased.

When I needed help, Lon Mabon and the OCA were there for me. Lon never judged or hated me, instead, he helped me. I came to them because of a measure they were supporting to stop a minority classification for homosexuality. There was a lot of media attention given to this issue. From my own personal experience I new that the OCA was defending the truth, while the opposition was very dishonest. I was still struggling with depression and fear because of my past, and trying to stop two "gay" pedophiles that I knew were molesting boys.

The people at the OCA were very helpful with literature, and a video about the root causes of homosexuality. The video had a pastor talking about similarities in the childhood of many homosexuals and gender identity confusion. It was all a revelation to me, and I had to fight back tears while watching it. I came to realize that I had a deep need for a father/son relationship which drew me into what I now call the gay "death"-style. Keep in mind that it is very important that a boy bond with his father when he is three years old, and start to identify with men. The mother must give the boy to his father! (This prevents gender identity confusion)

Here are a few of the many things that homosexuals have in common from their childhood. An absentee or abusive father. (In my case too, I hated the way he treated my mother - and many times wanted to run away from home) A dad that abuses drugs or alcohol, or a has a sexual problem. (i.e. infidelity, adultery) Or a step-father they did not bond with. There are many that had a domineering willful mother, and a weak passive wimpy approval seeking father. Acquaintances with this background tell me that people say to them "you're just like your mother!" It is painful, but educational, to listen to the testimonies. Some say "mom was still giving me a bath when I was 8 years old." Or "I was still sleeping with mom when I was 10 years old." This kind of thing is becoming more common as there are many single mothers raising sons. It is important for everyone to know what sexual predators are looking for, because we can help kids to be "recruit-proof."

The recent revelations about the boys molested by Catholic homosexual priests is cause for alarm and had the Catholic hierarchy not covered up for these deviant priests, many future abuse cases could have been prevented saving the church millions in lawsuits which have already been settled and future lawsuits yet to be filed.

I will forever be grateful to Lon Mabon and the Oregon Citizens Alliance. It could be any one of us who finds the courage to stand up against the political agenda of homosexuals that could be thrown in jail, like Mr. Mabon. People, please understand, THE ISSUE IS CHILD PROTECTION. While collecting signatures on OCA petitions, I carried a sign that had "protect children from homosexuality" written on it. Nothing made the gays and lesbians more angry! Why?! Do they want kids to experiment with dangerous and unhealthy behavior? I can tell you from my own personal experience, the truth is not in them.

Please, do not misunderstand me. If you are gay, or you know someone that is, don't give up hope! There are many ex-gays like myself who would like to help.

By supporting gay "rights", what you are saying is that you believe homosexuality is not perverted and therefore you're a homosexual.

I am NOT advocating the following kind of research, but there is eveidence that sexual desire can be changed as well. Dr Robert G Heath of Tulane university (a very controversial "doctor" if you look him up) inserted electrodes into a homosexual man's septum, and when activated, the electrodes would cause the man to experience "an orgasm-like sensation." The man was shown heterosexual pornography and was aroused enough to a state where he could have sex with women (temporarily, anyway). I'm not saying that homosexuals should be treated with electric-shock therapy, but sexuality is mental as well as physical. If the mind can be "shaped" then so can sexuality.

How are people with other sexual addictions treated? Particularly those who can only be aroused by porn? These people lack the ability to have a true sexual relationship with another person. The more perverse, the better it is for them, until nothing can satisfy them enough. If this kind of very dangerous sexual addiction can be treated, then why not homosexuality?

It is ironic that homosexuals used be called SSAD (Same Sex Attraction Disorder) by the AMA but now they're "gay!"

"Hunt should not be permitted to spread this kind of harmful misinformation," Paula Prettyman, president of Equality Fairfax said in her statement to the school board. "Reparative therapy techniques, or 'ex-gay' therapies, have been denounced by the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association."

The infiltration of the 'professional' medical and scientific associations by homosexual activists was ( and continues to be ) part of a well planned and well financed campaign to redefine homosexuality as normal. They started by infiltrating the American Psychiatric Association, with the goal removing homosexuality from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

Make no mistake, the homosexual activists knew exactly what they were doing in the days leading up to the removal of homosexuality from the DSM. Once they had control of the American Psychiatric Association, all the other 'professional' organizations ( such as the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Mental Health Association, the American Counseling Association, etc.) fell in line and now accept, and march to, the APA's pro-homosexual party line. Click here (then scroll down the page to "The American Academy of Pediatrics") for a list of other pro-homosexual 'professional' associations that toe each others' homosexual agenda lines.

Forcing the removal of homosexuality from the DSM was the homosexual community's greatest achievement. It permitted them to claim that "homosexuality is normal" and set the stage to present this "normalcy" to the general public via a well planned media campaign ( outlined in 'The Overhauling of Straight America' ), and to kids in the public schools via Kevin Jennings' GLSEN. Kids as young as kindergarten age are now being indoctrinated with "homosexuality is normal" propaganda.

It wasn't science, but rather pro-homosexual activism that was, and continues to be, the primary force behind policy changes and the politically correct statments made by the APA and the majority of the other "professional" medical and scientific organizations.

For documentation of homosexual activism in both the APA's and the AAP, see the following replies in scripter's "Homosexual Agenda: Categorical Index of Links (Revision 1.1)" thread:

American Psychological Association: 121, 240, 242, 300, 329, 331, 336, and 357.

American Psychiatric Association: 46, 139, 213, 232, 237, 239, 241, 243, 246, 300, 363, 364, and 443.

American Academy of Pediatrics: 284

I was wondering how long SKM was going to last, talking about being "rewired" like you are born that way. Not that I don't mind new pro-sodomy trolls, she was disrupting the purpose of this thread. And that is we need to email the fairfax county school board and support Stephen Hunt.

I wish the Admin Moderator would put this thread on the activism side board.

Some context. Ward Churchill who teaches students has a right to his free speech, but a school board member who addresses adults does not? They want to ignore Hunt do so, but they have no basis to boot him. Shows how hate speech laws would be used.

I suspect that there are a small number of people who are strongly homosexual by nature, but that the majority of homosexuals, perhaps a large majority, were recruited into this lifestyle by homosexual predators.

I have also read numerous articles that the absence of a father figure can promote homosexual behavior. It does not necessarily do so, because not all fatherless children turn out that way, but it likely leads to vulnerability.

What all this suggests, of course, is that we simply cannot permit the GLBT radicals to take over our schools and our courts. Vulnerable boys will be far more vulnerable if homosexual behavior is excused or even glorified.

More often than not, homosexual behavior involves an older man and a younger boy, who in effect plays the woman's part. Then when he grows older he may in turn prey on younger boys. The natural occurence of homosexuality is probably something like 1%. But a great many young boys and girls have been proselytized by political homosexuals, and in many cases their lives have been wrecked. Not something that we can sit back and permit. It's time to root this stuff out of the schools and mass entertainment, and to root out the politicians, news editors, and judges who support it.

Thanks Ed, from your link I googled Spitzer's quote and found a cite. It's not the Wall Street journal article but I think Massachusetts News qualifies.

"Like most psychiatrists, I thought that homosexual behavior could only be resisted, and that no one could really change their sexual orientation. I now believe that to be false. Some people can and do change,"

Notice how the headline reads like OFFICIALS demanded his resignation.

It should have headlined "homosexual group demands resignation..."

I think homosexuals object to the word repair, because repair implies they are broken.

I think it is IRRESPONSIBLE to not include this information on ANY homosexual discussion in schools. I am surprised it is not already mandatory.

There has been no proof one way or another about the causality or the changeability of homosexual orientation.

Actually there are thousands of ex-homosexuals. I'd call that proof

Why don't these scientists simply give their credentials to the school board and demand they be offered an opportunity to present they positions. If this was homosexual group such a presentation would be a given and invitable.

The therapy's materials should be included with the school board's approved teaching materials which are available to teachers.

An excerpt from "Pastoral Care For Same-Gender Attracted Individuals"

"... This perspective is reinforced by the recent experience of Dr. Robert Spitzer, the controversial psychiatrist who over two decades ago successfully lobbied for the removal of homosexuality from the diagnostic manual of mental disorders, but who has now come out in support of the concept of reparative therapy. In an editorial in the Wall Street Journal he offered the following realistic scenario:

Client: "I love my wife and children, but I usually am only able to have sex with my wife when I fantasize about having sex with a man. I have considered finding a gay partner, but I prefer to keep my commitment to my family. The homosexual feelings never felt like who I really am. Can you help me diminish those feelings and increase my sexual feelings for my wife?"

Professional: "You are asking me to change your sexual orientation, which is considered by my profession as impossible and unethical. All I am permitted to do is help you become more comfortable with your homosexual feelings."

The mental health professions should stop moving in the direction of banning such therapy. Many patients, informed of the possibility that they may be disappointed if the therapy does not succeed, can make a rational choice to work toward developing their heterosexual potential and minimizing their unwanted homosexual attractions. In fact, such a choice should be considered fundamental to client autonomy and self-determination."
(Dr. Robert L. Spitzer, "Psychiatry and Homosexuality," The Wall Street Journal, 05/23/2001)..."
