"Jesus, he's my friend." So...God bless him. One of the few good bands not afraid to express their Christianity.

RIP Mr. Knudsen. Thanks to you and your "brothers," I actually visited China Grove when I was in San Antonio.
On another note, the Doobie Brothers jumped the shark when that PANSY Michael McDonald became the lead singer. MICHAEL MCDONALD IS THE TED MCGINLEY OF ROCK AND ROLL!!!

I saw them in Vegas in their 1982 farewell tour at the old Alladin. Absolutely a great show.Their music brings back alot of good memories of when I use to party like a knucklehead....(still do). I'll throw one more down for the man,he deserves it!

My faves by the Doobies are "Listen to the Music", "Black Water" and "China Grove".
Wasn't "Jesus Is Just Alright" orignally done by the Byrds?
RIP Keith.

Aw man, that sucks. I've loved the Doobie Brothers since I was knee high to a grasshopper in the 70's. Album with headphones is the best!! Toulouse Street is the best, IMO.

The Doobie Brothers was the first concert I ever attended back in '73 and to this day, their music performed live sounded closest to the album recordings, then of any band I've seen. incidentally, they're back-up band that night was some new unknown group named Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Bummer. HD-Net has been running a recent DB concert for the past month or so; I've watched it two or three times. Fabulous show and a great hi-def production, too.
