Thanks for the thread, MoJo. Since you don't do much of anything else, it's nice to see you contribute. :) Hehehe! Just kidding! Favorite SciFi movie: Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan

As a very little girl, Creature From the Black Lagoon. I would never swim in a lake after that.

As an adult, Alien. Suspense to the very end.

Favorite All Time Sciece Fiction Show?:
The Original "Outer Limits". A terrific, B&W, 1960s weekly series that emphasized characters and plot over Special Effects. A great template for young film students and buffs to study in regards to "Less Means More" and the use of shadow and music to heighten suspense.

Favorite Episodes: "The Demon With A Glass Hand", "Architechs Of Fear", "The Zanti Misfits", "The Chameleon", "O.B.I.T", "The Sixth Finger", "The Inheritors", "The Hundred Days Of The Dragon", "Controlled Experiment', A Feasibilty Study", "The Man Who Was Never Born".

Second Favorite Series: "Babylon-5". Great writing, cast, plot, charcaters. Superb Special Effects. Light years ahead of "STNG", "DS-9" and "Voyager".

Favorite Sci~Fi Films:

"The Thing From Another World": A Who's Who of B-Actor talent turn in their best work and create the Classic "Red Scare/Sci~Fi Film. The Yardstick by which other films are measured. Nothing can touch it for dialogue and creepy claustrophobia!

"The Invasion Of The Body Snatchers": The original with Kevin McCarthy still holds its own today.

"Aliens": What "Alien" should have been. Instead of a high priced rip-off of "It! The Terror From Beyond Space". Inter-Galactic Marines kick a$$ and take names on a far off planet.

Early David Cronenberg: From "They Came From Within" to "Rabid", "The Brood" to "Scanners". Though "The Brood" is the most frightening.

Jack.

Movies
Plan 9 from Outer Space A monument to a atuer who refuise to let his lack of money and talent stop him from creating his vision

2001 A bit ponderous, but the first time they spent the money the genre deserved

Star Wars at last a real lived in uinverse that didn't look as it was cobbled together in the studio workshop,
TRON "... wait, no"

Serenuty sight unseen: In Joss We Trust

TV
Dr Who The long champ, (off to watch Robots of Death now - a robot story better than Asimov

Firefly the short champ - just 18 episodes - but Joss Whedon, so the womem are brave and strong, the men proud ans beautiful, the science dodgy, and the writing like the snow on the Feast of St Stephen - crisp and deep and even. (Plus Joss told the head actor, Nathan Fillon, to base his portrayal on John Wayne)

Babylon 5 The free market 23d century, much better than that socialist Gene Rodenberry version

Farscape "Sense of Wonder" - what the whole SF thing is all about.

I believe the last(and first maybe) one I saw was 'The Pit and the Pendulum' in the movie theater. I don't do horror movies any more. Walt Disney is more my style.

Favorite SciFi is hard to choose. I liked ALL of the Star Trek series and movies (except Star Trek: The Motion Picture). My family and I never missed an episode of Dr. Who. And I like the Star Wars movies. When I could get good reception, I liked Babylon 5, but it was on a station that was weak in our area. I refuse to get cable, I'd rather pay the money to get the series on DVDs.
