Welcome to the Canteen phoenix.

By far I think Stanley Kubricks film 2001 or whatever it was called was probably the worst Sci-Fi since, since, ... ever.

Yes, it definitely did not do the book justice. But the sequel, 2010 was much better. None of that surrealistic stuff in that one.

Although I liked 2001: A Space Odyssey, I can understand why many didn't like it. Especially if you read the book. I would say that it did the best it could at the time with the limitations in FX, but it still lacked quite a lot of content from the book.

Well, you do look like you are in deep thought about something. But, just guessing, I would have guessed you were thinking about a good home-cooked meal! So, when does this grand adventure come to a close?

MILSPEAK sometimes called Pentagonese has several regional and specialty dialects, as well as the somewhat common core language. There's the core that is used at general and admiral level and their staffs. Then there's Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard which is very similar to Navy. Then it gets crazy where Signals types can talk across service lines and understand but cannoneers from the army can't talk and be understood by the Gunners (5" and above) and be understood. It's a world all it's own. The kids even pick it up. Now I've been out since '92 and our kids don't ask when were going to take vacation it's when are we taking leave. When I had to travel on business they all referred to it as a TDY (temporary duty)trip. Even the youngest when we were gathering up papers for taking a stab at the taxes called her pay stubs LESs (Leave and Earning Statements).

No! The RINO held his seat. Cochise County didn't go to him though in the primary and in the general the Dem from Tucson was as bad as Nancy Pelosi, so we had to hold our noses.

That's hilarious!!

It was so funny to hear my DAD talking about his ROTC experiences over the weekend last. He was talking to my Army reserve bro, but he was AF ROTC. Out of his mouth came the acronym "SOP." I was just surprised, cause he rarely discusses it. He wanted to be in the AF but his eyesight kept him out.
