Sen. John Kerry reiterated his pledge on Monday to sign the form that would allow the government to release all his military records, but said he wanted to know exactly what was in his file before doing so.
"I have a stack of different material they sent me," Kerry told radio host Don Imus. "Every time they send me something I want to know what they sent me."
"I'll get it done," Kerry insisted in the next breath.
Last week the 2008 presidential hopeful suggested he wanted to review his full Navy file to make sure of "what is in the record and what isn't in the record" before signing Form 180.
"I'm going to sit down with them and make sure that they are clear and I am clear as to what is in the record and what isn't in the record and we'll put it out," he told "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert.
Kerry did not explain his reference to "what isn't in the record," though questions arose late in the campaign about why he received his honorable discharge six years after leaving the service.
Pressed earlier today on when he intended to sign Form 180, Kerry said only, "Shortly."
The full exchange went like this:
IMUS: You also told Tim that you would sign Form 180 releasing all of your military records. Have you done that?
KERRY: Yeah. We're gonna do that. Absolutely, I will. But listen, I also think . . .
IMUS: When are you going to do that?
KERRY: As soon as I get, as required by the military, precisely . . .
IMUS: Why don't you do it today?
KERRY; Because I have a stack of different material they sent me. Every time they send me something I want to know what they sent me. I'll get it done. . . .
IMUS: By noon today?
KERRY: No. But shortly. [END OF EXCERPT]
Because guys like Kerry expects the MSM to support them regardless of their behavior. And they do (look under Willie Clinton).
Wouldn't it be poetic justice if we discovered that while the MSM was trying to dream up stories about Bush's "desertion" Kerry had in fact been running on a less than honorable discharge. That would make his heroics as bogus as his supposed character.
He's stalling untill he can clean out whats really in those documents . Not really sure how but no doubt he has a team going through that stuff.Unaltered, he could be finished for good..
Question. : If,( And it's a BIG If ) he does indeed sign the Form 180 will that open the information to the Public
by way of the "Freedom of Information Act".?
And can kerry sanitize any part of the report before it's released.??
Just wondering.
I agree.....Hillary is in the picture. That takes care of Dean and Kerry. Anyways, I'm guessing she hit on Ubama as a running mate. He's a smooth talker BUT I also think he still has "honesty" in his genes. Maybe he will have the courage to tell her NO.
Being sworn in as the Admiral of the Cambodian Navy ?
Let's see "I signed the Form 180 before I unsigned the Form 180"
He needs "The Burglar" to sanitize the archives, too.
Too bad these democratic media shills didn't go after Kerry about signing his 180 forms before the election.
God bless "The Swifties"!
LOL....oh, Sen Kerry why do you have to review what's in your file?....everyone in the military pretty much knows what's in their records....unless it's something you don't want us to see....hmmmmmm!
Well, then Git 'er done, ya gas bag!
It must be something pretty damaging, if he thinks that even his MSM puppets can't make it go away.
I don't get it. I teach in a Christian school and am a pastor in a conservative church. I wouldn't have the least fear of embarrassment in opening my military service files sight unseen. What is the problem with Mr. Kerry's file? Why does he 'need to know what is in it?'
I can guess what "they" are sending him: drafts.
What the heck does that mean?
Do they send him unsolicited stuff all the time? That sure is what that sounds like to me.
I get those You may already have been elected President despite being a traitor! mailings all the time from the Military Records Clearing House. They are a nuisance.
If he ever signs form 180, he won't be "puting it out". It will be come public information available thru freedom of information act (FOIA) requests. I can'r see him EVER doing that, since he won't control the information in the file.
Quote: I don't know how influential a Senator can be in removing or redacting something from his military records and keeping it quiet. Endquote
I doubt that anyone in the military is likely to do any favors for this particular scuzzbucket. I would think his influence with the Armed Services is about the same as his chances for being elected President of the NRA.
BTW and O/T -- how do you add quotes, bold, etc. -- I'm at a loss.
If Kerry was going to sign the form, he would have done it during the campaign.
Well isn't it obvious. He's got something to hide as we all know, and he is afraid that it is finally coming out
That single statement is damning. He's obviously got something to hide. Someone who's served honorably doesn't give a rat's arse what's in or not in the record, because it's all reflective of honorable service.
Wow, I heard that he was in Viet Nam! Did you know he was in Viet Nam? Really!
