"Meanwhile, controversy continues to brew over the impending marriage of U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Antonio Garza to Mexican heiress Maria Asuncion Aramburuzabala, "

What controversy? Malkin must be competing with Savage for the bottom feeder audience.

I think the "controversy" comes from Mexicans. Because Mexico is theoretically a "socialist" country, they don't like to admit that they have people worth 1.5 billion. Kind of takes off that socialist luster. But of course, socialism is simply another name for oligarchy (in socialism, the rich always rule, there are just fewer of them than there are in capitalism), so this should be a surprise to no one.

""It will be interesting to see how this plays out," Fernandez said. "It reflects the new reality of U.S.-Mexico relations. We're so intertwined, I don't see any conflict of interest."

There's your controversy. Corrupt kooks!

Ping-o. Thanks for adhering to the unofficial rules and posting those pictures, Stoat.

I hope everyone's enjoying America's unofficial holiday (even you, Bayourod).

"I think the "controversy" comes from Mexicans. Because Mexico is theoretically a "socialist" country,"

What does that have to do with the marriage? Where's the controversy?

"con·tro·ver·sy (noun)[kontra vursee]
dispute about contentious subject; disagreement on a contentious topic, strongly felt or expressed by all those concerned"

Onlt Malkin finds some controversy in these two people marrying.

No, no change in tactics, some people are consistent. Look at an article with tons of facts and information and search for one line that he can take objection to and then ride it to death.

Today he's

in the mud trying to get his masochism fix. Just trying to help him out - it's got to be tough today for a guy missing the soccer camaraderie of his homeland.

I thought all the upper echelons in Mexico, including the president, were traditionally involved in the drug trade. I suspect this fellow must have been disagreeable and made himself unpopular with his fellows, like Shelley in California.

He's one of the ruling elite, now. I doubt he ever represented our interests, anyway. Sounds like he's been sucking up awhile.
