JUST FOR TODAY
As I go through some "troubles" in my own life, I've worked out this "formula" to help me be a useful and happy person. See if it doesn't work for you!
JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle my whole life problem at once.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will be happy. I will assume to be true what Abraham Lincoln said: "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."
JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will adjust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out. I will do at least two things I don't want to do just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticize not one bit, not find fault with anything, and not try to improve or regulate anybody but myself.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have lt. I will save myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a quiet half hour all by myself. During this half hour, I will try and get a better perspective of my life.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give back to me.

Check out this cool cookbook!
At Freedom's Table: More Than 200 Years of Recipes and Remembrance from Military Wives
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=1581821921/pamelaricehahnthA
Now, for the good news about the book:
For some reason, I can't link directly to the bargain version (using my ID and without the URL being humongous); HOWEVER, if once you're at the book info page, you click on the BARGAIN BOOKS link at the top of the page, and then under BIG, BEAUTIFUL BOOKS, you click on the COOKING, FOOD, AND WINE link, you'll see that the book is available now for ONLY $5.99!!!
The BARGAIN BOOK is even the hardcover edition.

Read the customer reviews of the book!
SOMEBODY has been bugging me to write a book for preteens, and it sure looks like there might be a bunch of ideas for potential topics in that book!
Current projects are moving along slowly, but surely.
I even ventured OUTSIDE today and I had TWO CHECKS in the mailbox!!! ;)

Folks, it's getting chilly out here on the stoop, and there's things that have to get done (by me, of course) before Lights Out...
So, it's time for me to shut her down and get back to the barracks.

Sarge will try and be back briefly tomorrow, so Y'all Enjoy The Game!
