On the first anniversary of the Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction that shook the world, it's clear that just one was enough to wreak havoc. The ensuing Washington indecency crusade has unleased a wave of self-censorship on American television unrivaled since the McCarthy era.
Even NBC's presentation of the Summer Olympics, in which actors donned body suits to simulate 'nude' ancient Greek statues, is under investigation.
This repressive cultural environment was officialy ratified on November 2nd, when Ms. Jackson's breast pulled off its greatest coup of all: the re-election of President Bush.
Or so it was decreed by the media hoarde that retroactively delared that 'moral values' was the campaigns decisive issue.
The policial bosses of so called 'family orginizations' are now spending their political capital like drunken sailors, redoubling their demands that the Bush Administration marginalize gay people, stamp out sex education and turn popular culture into a continious loop of 'Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.'

Dude, that's funny...and right.
LOL! Or invite Janet Jackson back, to do her own interpretation of "Vagina Monologues".
hmm.. looks like this "fellow" has boob envy..
"A two bit no account movie critic is considered a relevant voice by the left? No one paid much attention to his movie reviews..."
You are obviously unaware of Mr. Rich's career. He was the NY Times theatre critic for many years, and I guess he was pretty severe since his nickname was "The Butcher of Broadway". I don't know too much about him, but he was certainly influential. The the Times "kicked him upstairs" for whatever reason, and there he sits today, writing pure tripe like this piece, a living breathing example of the ultimate truth of The Peter Principle.
"horde" you illiterate peasant!
So the Left has gone from grasping at straws to grasping at Janet Jackson?
Rich has turned the Sunday Times Arts and Entertainment Section into a Bush-hating, Republican-hating rag.
One more reason for my decision to stop buying a publication I've read for decades.
Yeah, I guess you can equate Lucy & Ricky sleeping in separate beds with the furor over a self-serving washed up pop star trying to reinvent herself by baring a breast during family viewing-- if you are a self-serving washed up broadway critic trying to reinvent himself by being a mouthpiece for the Left.
Exactly. Rich was a lousy theater critic, so they took him off it and let him review movies. Then he proved to be a lousy movie critic, so they took him off that and let him pontificate about politics. Nothing to screw up their, no Hollywood moguls to offend, just angry Republicans.
But Rich doesn't write weekly Op-Ed columns, only sporadic ones. They only let this "attack poodle" out of the closet when they want a good laugh and they feel like watching him pee on Bush's shoe.
Why didn't they just fire him? Who knows. Probably he was somebody's boyfriend and they kept him on for old times sake, the same way Howell Raines kept Maureen Dowd on.
In old Brooklyn we would say "This guy is mental!".
Denny Crane: There are two places to find truth. First God and then Fox News."
You must be a Laura Ingraham fan..lol!
LOL! I agree! To call Dr. Dobson a "political boss" is more than laughable.
And .. what the liberals never can acknowledge - America is a religious nation - and it was founded on religious freedom - not on NO RELIGION OR MORALITY.
But .. the libs are so morally deficient they just don't get it.
Absolutely. I was totally surprised when I found out that a twenty-something gal in our office voted Republican in the last election. I had always thought her to be quite liberal. I asked her why she voted Republican. She looked at me with a sick face and said, "Democrats are DISGUSTING."
That pretty much said it all, right there.
