Who was he supposed to have murdered? I never saw anything about that in the story. Was it supposed to have been written "attempted murder"? Amazing that the police didn't do any basic investigative work, but I guess they must have thought that's what the perp would pay his lawyer to do.
Just incredible. I hope his exoneration got at least as much media play as the outlandish charges against him. That way he can get his life back.

In cases like this the accuser should be sentenced to the maximum sentence the accused *could* have gotten if convicted of all charges.
Its the only fair resolution.

But there were problems with Faanes' story: Brooks had solid alibis for two of the attacks, and he claimed he had not even seen Faanes for more than two months. He told Orange County investigators as much, but "they didn't care ... They relied on her word 100 percent," he said. The sheriff's office attitude, he said: "You beat this girl, she has the marks, she has no witnesses, but you're guilty." The sheriff's office says it had no choice but to arrest Brooks, since Faanes identified him and had the injuries to back it up.No, her allegations and apparent injuries were cause to investigate him, not throw him into jail. What kind of idiots are these cops?! At the very least, they should already be fired.

How to make sure cops are thorough and conscientious?
The alternative for them is to be thrown into the worst section of prison for 48 hours, to be at the mercy of the real thugs.
That'll teach 'em!

I understand completely. The way I felt about the rapist clinton didn't affect my vote for W, either.

I can only imagine what was going through his mind - "I can score anytime I want with this hot blonde Norwegian chick, and there's no strings attached - I must be good!"

goldstategop, why do you keep including that quote from "Denny Crane" in every one of your posts? First off, it's not even remotely clever or profound. Second, the place to put that is in your tagline, where it belongs.Hear! Hear! Thank you for saying what needed to be said!

I think we need to start referring to the lying scum who perpetrate frauds like this as pheminists just as we refer to phishing as the "art" of getting idiots to reveal personal information about themselves and their finances on the internet. This girl (she ain't now woman) is a phraud.

Wow! Ya think so, huh?
She has such a charming countenance, doesn't she? And just think....anyone Googling her name from now until the end of time will come up with that pic and 'hammer attack'....what a delightful legacy to leave upon this earth....
Actually, I have complete sympathy for her....any male who hits a woman should be beaten to within an inch of his life with hammers, rakes, pitchforks, garden hoes, any big heavy tool will do :-)

She needs some kind of mental counseling or some kind of help. BULLSHIT!!
This woman needs to go to jail for at least 5-10 years. She's runined lives, and cost a lot of people a lot of money that they will never recover. I would also look at prosecuting the so called "detectives" that took her word for it.
And to correct the article, she's not pretty, she's FUGLY!

When you look at this woman's picture, I can see that evil look in her eyes, that feminist look.

Yea,, but,, you still can't hide that evil look in her eyes,, that feminist evil look. When I look at women, all I have to do is look in their eyes, and I can see what they are all about, it's something you can't hide.
