The residents of a small Iraqi village have killed five insurgents who had attacked them for voting in last weekend's national elections.
Several other insurgents were also wounded.
The insurgents raided the village of al-Mudhiryah south of Baghdad after warning its inhabitants not to vote in the election.
The villagers fought back, killing five of the insurgents and wounding eight others.
The insurgents' cars were then set alight.
Al-Mudhiryah's tribal sheikh says his people are sick of being threatened by Islamic extremists.

Makes this old man proud.
I knew they were only going to take so much.
You don't have to stand out, but you do have to stand up.

This report brought a tear of joy. Between this story, the State of the Union address, and "the hug", life is GOOD.

Iran may fold from inside at any time, just like Poland and East Germany did. If that happens, The muslim political landscape will change drastically, about like the Soviet.

Wow!
With Iraqi citizens now going after insurgents and terrorists, I guess Ted Kennedy and Michael Moore had better stay away from that country.

One thing I have to admit is that Bush was far more correct than I. After 9/11, I wanted to make the entire middle east look like the bottom of a shake and bake bag. He stated that there were millions of people there who just wanted to live in peace and freedom, and that our task was to give them that opportunity. Same applies to me.

Bless their hearts. One taste of the nectar of liberty, introduces those who were once enslaved, to a way of life that is worth dying to preserve, but better yet to live for and enjoy and to force those who would take it away to die instead.

But...but...but...
Michael Moore said the TERRORISTS were the Minutemen...
Didn't these villagers get the memo? The terrorists are the good guys! Those people should be ashamed of themselves! Sticking up for their families and their rights and their freedom like that.
Oh, well. Maybe the Minutemen will all go back to Syria. It's safe THERE.
For now.

Does Iraq have trees or lampposts suitable for hanging?
Hanging insurgents corpses on a lamppost over their burning vehicles would probably drive a strong message to wannabe insurgents that this town isn't an easy target.
Not to mention that in Islamic tradition, the dead should be buried within 24 hours. Would be a good message to give to insurgents.

Hey, I can't find this story (via a quick Google search) sourced anywhere in the US media. I'm going to guess none of the usual MSM suspects are particularly interested unless the story permitted the headline to be modified a bit, i.e. "Iraqi villagers kill 5 insurgents, then they all got their heads cut off and 10 US Marines were also killed in the scuttle".
