Hanging insurgents corpses on a lamppost over their burning vehicles would probably drive a strong message to wannabe insurgents that this town isn't an easy target.
Not to mention that in Islamic tradition, the dead should be buried within 24 hours. Would be a good message to give to insurgents.
The Taliban used to do that. Not that there's anything wrong with it. I believe in setting examples. Nobody likes having their own tactics turned against them. Payback is a mother.
Kind of like what coastal towns used to do with the bodies of pirates to deter any other pirates who might get the idea to raid the town.
