So, Rossi asked for a re-vote......judge says no

Dims asked for a dismissal.....judge says no

Is the judge on that commercial where everything is NO?

Could Rossi have gone to the Supremes without this hearing?

OK so if the case was not dismissed, and there is no revote, then what IS there going to be? This is the part I think a lot of people don't quite get yet.

Well, I am confused! So, does this mean the case goes forward in Chelan with this Judge hearing the evidence of fruad and/or error in the vote counting? And, if he rules in favor of the petitioners, that there was sufficient fraud and/or error to change the results of the election, that the office is just vacated until the next general election?

I don't think so; the WSSC is an appellate court; first hearing must be in a lower court. That was today.

Dear Neighbor:

As someone who has contacted me in the past regarding a revote for the Governor's race, I wanted to give you the latest information on the election challenge.

Chelan County Superior Court Judge John Bridges heard arguments on the Democrat Party’s motion to dismiss the Republican Party’s election challenge today, Friday, February 4.  Last week, Secretary of State Sam Reed filed court papers siding with Republicans on key legal issues in the lawsuit.  Since the court first met on January 20, the Republican Party has filed briefs on its discovery and verification of 737 illegal votes.

The Chelan County judge refused to dismiss the election challenge brought by Dino Rossi.  The Democratic Party had held that the state constitution provides that only the legislature can hear a challenge to the election of the governor.  The Judge ruled that the constitution does allow the legislature to delegate its authority to the courts, and that the Legislature had in fact done that.  The judge also refused to transfer the case to the State Supreme Court meaning that at some time, the court will say when it will begin taking evidence in the election contest.

I will continue to update you as significant events happen during the course of these legal challenges before the court system.

Sincerely,

The feed is down. The judge said he doesn't think he can order a revote. However, it sounded like the election can be declared null and void. If that happens, Gregoire leaves. Lt. Gov. is in until Nov. for a new election.

Not sure about all of this we need some real legal analysis.

Only got it to the point where he declared a vacated office and not a re-vote would be issue here.

The judge hasn't ruled on the election contest. He has ruled that the contest will go forward, but that he does not have the power to order a revote.

If the GOP wins the contest, what will probably happen is that the office will simply declared vacant.

At that point, the ordinary procedures for a vacancy come into play: Lt. Gov. Brad Owen acts as governor until November, when there will be an election to fill the unexpired term.

I think.

Well, yes, I suppose. But even if The Bitch Who Won't Leave leaves, a 'Rat Lt. Gov takes TBWWL's place - and with a 'Rat House/Senate can do a hell of a lot of damage between now and November.

The People's job will be to so intimidate the whole 'Rat crowd that they don't dare.

If that is what the Washington state law says is the remedy, yes!

I don't know if that is what the state laws says though.

Anyone know the bottom line on that issue?
