Sounds like they were running a foster-child mill. I don't know what they pay in Florida, but out here $600-$800 a head x 7 is a nice living. A peaceful living too, with enough duct tape. Having relocated people's children and redistributed everyone's tax dollars, the state loses interest in its doings. Too busy handing out food stamps to notice actual starvation.
Or, maybe this couple is just like those spooky cat hoarders.
WRONG!!! A person is PRESUMED innocent until proven guilty IN A COURT OF LAW. We can believe whatever we want.
Florida. Didn't something else happen in Florida? Like a foster child turned up missing a couple years back?
Real failure of the system.
Here's hoping they resist arrest...be a shame if those two couldn't be taken in alive...
Ever watch "COPS"? It's real interesting what happens shortly after the officer yells "STOP RESISTING!"..
14 yr olds weighing 38 pounds. That is the average weight of a 3 yr old and that is flimsy.
You have got to be kidding?
A 60lb. 16-year old boy?
14-year old malnourished and emaciated twins?
You make me sick.
I hope they get hit by a truck or they are in the woods running and a nice timber rattler bites them.
They are a waste of space and oxegyn.
Those poor kids. God bless them. I am so sick about
the thought of what they went through.
It's amazing how many people are responding to popman without any apparent recall that in the past we've received incorrect initial information, in fact, quite often. I think popman has been quite clear that if this information is true they should be strung up. I concur. What's wrong in waiting for a tiny bit more info besides one CNN (!) story?
On another note, we often see posts that describe "faces of evil." It looks like evil can look pretty normal, too.
Is fox news enough of a reliable source for you? because that's where I saw it...
"Is fox news enough of a reliable source for you? because that's where I saw it..."
It's reliable in that there is a story and that the police are looking for the suspects. It's not so reliable that it's an absolute certainty that they are guilty so that there is no need for a trial, which is what some on this thread seem to be indicating.
Exactly.
The MSM should report whether or not these kids are wards of the state, then opine whether they were treated better or worse than prisoners at Abu Ghraib.
Is it reliable enough that you believe them when they report that the children were starved and had physical marks on them showing abuse? with all that AND the couple taking off like cowards, I suppose you would advise caution still? Most of the made up stories don't include physical evidence like this... what are you afraid of?
They caught 'em in Utah.

Hi Varina:
When I read this on the Drudge Report (specifically about the 14 year old twins who weighed 37 lbs.), I just started praying to the Lord and couldn't even find the words. It is so hideous that I cannot in my wildest imaginings ever comprehend, nor do I want to, this kind of unspeakable evil. It is EVIL, as pure as it gets.
What did you think of their fancy home? That house looked very expensive. They were using the foster money for their nice house and keeping 5 children in a situation worse than than of many P.O.W.s
Thank you for making this point. I had the same thoughts myself. When we start calling things what they are not, we lose the true meaning. As you said, THIS is torture; committing what amounted to college hazing (Abu Grahb) well, while it sure wasn't nice, I'd hardly call it torture.
That's what always mystifies me. I'm convinced that the psycho-weirdo-evil-warped-loser-sicko-creeps just somehow FIND each other or one of them ends up warping the other. Bad company corrupts (that's scriptural you know). Messed up people seem to gravitate toward one another.
Thank God they caught the freaks! Unbelievable... where did they get all the money - the house, the Lexus, the motor home.... was it all foster system money? I say they should fry them. Death penalty would be very merited in this case since in my opinion starving someone to death should be considered attempted murder. Will the teens ever be normal - during the puberty and growing years if you're starved, I can't imagine they'll ever reach their full height and so on - also what about brain development!!!
I might be inclined to wait and see if they were responsible for hitting the kids, or pulling their toe nails out, but there is no possible way these people could have not known that the kids were being starved. These animals HAD to be aware of what was happening, and that leaves little room to doubt that they did the rest as well.
Hunt them down, kill them, and/or feed them to wild animals.
Gov. Jeb Bush said the couple adopted the children in the 1990s. DCF officials said the adoption records were sealed, but there were no other prior abuse reports involving the family in Florida. In a 1995 application with the Department of Children & Families, Linda Dollar wrote that she left home at age 16 because of her alcoholic and abusive father. She also wrote that her first marriage ended because of "abuse." She gave no other details. The comments were included in 164 pages of documents from when the Dollars applied to become foster parents. The department released them Friday.
