It could have been on every media source known to man, it wouldn't matter. The issue that I was addressing was that you attacked a fellow poster for simply pointing out the concept of innocent until proved guilty. You believe they're guilty, I believe they're guilty. It doesn't make it wrong to point out that they should be convicted before their sentence is carried out.

No disrespect but you are not understanding the point. Yes it is a terrible story and if true, these people will certainly burn in hell. But why would you attack someone for mentioning that people are innocent until proven guilty? Is it that you don't like our justice system? What's your alternative?

I'm not the one getting all sensitive to the needs of people who hurt children.. I've seen the Wenatchee witch hunts too, and none of them involved any physical evidence whatsoever and none of those people ran off even though they weren't guilty..big difference...

Perhaps you confuse me with someone getting all sensitive to the needs of people who hurt children. I'm more sensitive to the needs of the American justice system to require conviction before sentence . . . big difference.

What's most amazing about this whole discussion is how most of the people who are posting like you can probably be found on other threads criticizing everything they read in the MSM. But on this story, the media is so absolutely trustworthy, that anyone who brings up that we might want to take a little time to verify the truth is in bed with child abusers. Funny.

I'm not sensitive to the needs of the american justice system because it is so flawed..beyond flawed.. my husband works for the "justice system" and has enough horror stories to sour one on the system..

I guess we're just not going to see eye-to-eye on this. We both agree that if the crimes that are described in these reports were committed by these people then they should receive the most severe punishment. I guess the only difference is that you are 100% convinced that everything is exactly as reported to you in the MSM and I am only 99.9% certain. That difference is enough to make me want to wait to find out further information and, by the way, uphold our Constitution.

As for your comment that the justice system is flawed, I couldn't agree more, but still I can't think of a better one.

If the kids were never seen, then why not simply state that the kids were never seen? Isn't that enough information?

This house of horrors was no homeschool. So why say it was? Simple. The reporter disagrees with the homeschool concept and this looked like a fine opportunity to take a cheap shot and create false guilt by association, to throw all innocently run homeschools into question. The government can go and bother any family at will that seems to be the least bit reclusive, there's no need to slander real home schoolers by associating them with this tragedy. Pure shameless exploitation on the part of the journalist. His objections on homeschooling belong in another article.

I think a Christian school is a fine place to educate our young. I just think that parents do have the right to set up a home school for their young'ns as an alternative to a government school or a religious academy. Many have done so, and have raised great kids who go on to college and have good careers.

I think I smell a bit of anti-homeschool prejudice in your post. What's your problem with the concept of homeschooling?

Dear Windsong: I am not Catholic but I understand that even the Pope, speaking to some audience/group a couple of weeks ago, before he became ill with the flu, talked about how things were going to escalate because the Devil is going to be given more reign. Along with some of the more common prophetic knowledge, THIS really gave me pause, so I, too, wonder. Of course, there's been rampant evil since man was created.

You two might want to take a look at this story in conjuction with our earlier discussion regarding the Florida couple -- the news media is not always accurate. Many on this board were calling for the head of this woman and it turned out that she did not do it.
