Churchill controversial on two fronts
Indian Country Today ^ | February 3, 2005 | Jim Adams

Posted on 02/03/2005 9:54:30 PM PST by huac

"Some prominent activists involved in earlier confrontations have devoted a great deal of energy to investigating his claim to be an American Indian himself and have found no evidence to support it... At various times, according to press reports, Churchill has described himself as Cherokee, Keetoowah Cherokee, Muskogee, Creek and most recently Meti. In a note in the online magazine Socialism and Democracy he wrote, ''Although I'm best known by my colonial name, Ward Churchill, the name I prefer is Kenis, an Ojibwe name bestowed by my wife's uncle.'' In biographical blurbs, he is identified as an enrolled member of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokees. But a senior member of the band with access to tribal enrollment records told Indian Country Today that Churchill is not listed. George Mauldin, tribal clerk in Tahlequah, Okla., told the Rocky Mountain News, ''He's not in the data base at all.''

"doesn't Ward Cleaver look just like one of those honkeys who used to play the Indians?"

Maybe he got the idea for this scam by watching F Troop??

Tell me your thoughts on this article, huac...I'm only posting a few questions posed to Churchill with his answers to those, below:

Dismantling the Politics of Comfort
The Satya Interview with Ward Churchill, April 2004

****

Some people feel that those who abuse animals or people negate their right to consideration and open themselves up to physical violence. What’s your response to this?

The individuals who are perpetrators in one way or another, the “little Eichmanns”* in the background—the technocrats, bureaucrats, technicians—who make the matrix of atrocity that we are opposing possible are used to operating with impunity. If you’re designing thermonuclear weapons, you’re subject to neutralization, in the same sense that somebody who is engaged in homicide would be, in terms of their capacity to perpetrate that offense. One or two steps removed should not have the effect of immunizing. Otherwise, only those who are in the frontline—usually the most expendable in the systemic sense—are subject to intervention. None of the decision-makers, the people who make it possible, would be subject to intervention that would prevent their action in any way at all.
That brings me to one question, which is, in general, people like to think they’re pretty decent. They don’t like to think of themselves as violent or complying with a system that is oppressive...

Heinrich Himmler viewed himself in exactly that way. He was a family man, he had high moral values, he’d met his responsibilities, blah, blah, blah—a good and decent man in his own mind.
Do you think that applies to most American people?

In the sense that it applied to most Germans [during the Third Reich].
* * *

What are some of the solutions? Extreme events, like 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq, have mobilized people out of such complacency, albeit temporarily.

"I don’t have a ready answer for that. One of the things I’ve suggested is that it may be that more 9/11s are necessary......

Lying about being an Indiean on his resume ought to be enough to give the spineless regents at CU a reason to fire this total embarrassment to the institution. Then they ought to fire the administrators who did not vet this anti-American phony before hiring him in the first place. The charge would be gross imcompetence.

He described them as being ''busy braying, incessantly and self-importantly, into their cell phones, arranging power lunches and stock transactions, each of which translated, conveniently out of sight, mind and smelling distance, into the starved and rotting flesh of infants. If there was a better, more effective, or in fact any other way of visiting some penalty befitting their participation upon the little Eichmanns inhabiting the sterile sanctuary of the twin towers, I'd really be interested in hearing about it.''

It's rare to actually have a chance to hear the voice of the Enemy with such clarity. It's usually well-wrapped in liberal platitiudes like "housing the homeless" or "giving the poor a hand up", but somehow this blast of pure evil got through even though it wasn't widely reported by the MSM.

Ironically, not since Eichmann has evil been this unadorned. Or banal.

Someone has to give this it's own post. This little photo line-up is the stake through the heart of the "Unfortunate Case of the Fake Indian". It's the Perry Mason moment we have all been waiting for.

Seems like the typical, leftist agit prop. Starts out by introducing him as the expert on genocide. Uh oh, we know were that is going in a magazine with a multicultural title. Nothing good about the USA here.

"the technocrats, bureaucrats, technicians—who make the matrix of atrocity that we are opposing possible are used to operating with impunity..."

In the words of Dr Evil, "Righhtt".

High falootin' language to dress up what is otherwise just a tired screed. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still just a pig.

I bet he's been telling lies about being in Vietnam too. This has happened before with another university professor.

We're checking on that from here at Ft. Benning.

All we need now is for Churchill to say something like "Ich bin ein Native American."

"We're checking on that from here at Ft. Benning"

I like were this sentence takes us. Smells like magnolias and sawdust. Sounds of predawn cadence. And a man named "Iron Mike" with a death grip in the lattice, waiting to be rescued. I think Ward Cleaver Churchill has met his Waterloo.

Typo, that "K" should be a "P".

All the University really needs to do is to make sure that the Student body, through civil public debate, or written debate, (as in the student body newspaper), can openly, and without fear of retaliation, discuss and dissect his nonsense. The enemy of leftist lunacy is widespread public scrutiny.
