Thank you. I heartily appreciate it when a patriot sees things clearly and puts his country first. Seriously.
Its not something I am happy about. I had high hopes that Russia would become a bulwark of the West and Christianity and finally achieve freedom. Russia had the opportunity to become a hugely important member, and leader, of the West.
But it appears that they have chosen, once again, to go down that dark road that they have so often travelled in their history. The outcome will once again be the same.
With the power of a rising China and the threat surrounding them of Islamic extremism, I have no idea why they have chosen to collaborate.
It looks like they have ideas about putting the Soviet Union back together. But the USSR fell apart for a reason and putting it back together will be futile in the end. With their declining birth rate, readily available abortions, a huge empty land with great resources, and hungry and expanding neighbors. Their current moves do not look particularly wise.

I know! Let's give the USSR, oops, I mean Russia, more money to "build the International Space Station". Agreed? Great. Nap time.

"The Russian Bear continues assisting America's enemies."
That's because there is really no break in coninuity between the USSR and Russia...it is a fiction designed to lull us to sleep. See my post #39. Best regards--TTS

Anyone who warns about Moscows true objectives is automatically branded a Cold Warrior, even by people who have doubts about Moscows motives. You have it so right. On more then one occasion I have been labeled a 'Cold Warrior' for simply mentioning Putin is rapidly solidify his power with the assistance of his old KGB conies, in addition to supplying Syria, Iran and the majority of the 'former' Soviet allies, who happen to be our enemies, as well as Israel's.
Putin is well aware the threatening Iranian nuclear issue will be fully addressed and most likely in the late Spring or during the Summer, yet he refuses to halt supplying Tehran's Islamic tyrants. Israel, out of direct national security necessities will be forced to take action, if we do not and soon.
Thank you for posting #39. People need to wake up.

It seems that this outline has been more sucessful since the fall of the Soviet Union (actually, more of a restructuring than a fall) and since Putin took over. The old Soviets never had the slick oily smoothness of Putin, they were too clumsy and obvious in their games.
I remember when the USSR broke up and became the CIS. Everyone and their dog was rejoicing like it was the best thing this side of the Second Coming. We and Russia would be bosom buddies for ever and all that. I kept thinking to myself: "take time, slow measured steps, and not rush anything; let's not start jumping into bed with the Russians too quickly, they have never been our friends, only allies of temporary mutual convenience."

If Russian leadership had a history of being wise, the history of Russia and of the world would look decidedly different than it does. They have no such tradition. The long suffering people of Russia have proven, many times, that their effort can pull them out of even the horrible scrapes their typically power mad leaders so regularly plunge them into - but the leaders? As soon expect the Democrats to celebrate patriotism and free enterprise and high morals...

It was probably on the Front Page News sidebar. There are a bunch of Russia articles there from early 2005 posted there today for some reason.
To: The Pack Knight

CIA, WHERE ARE YOU? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Christians In Action are too busy defending themselves internally from the predations of liberal socialsit Clinton appointees, who have managed to get the FBI to investigate so called "water board torture" videos destruction.
I swear, because of them, all the old school CIA warriors have retired or taken up low risk work away from these 5th column CIA , Valerie Plame AHs.
As far as we kwno, not one person interrogated using water boarding has died from it. And the CIA obtained LOTS of good intelligence in a timely way. Its all politics now, and the CIA is weakened by it while the Russians and Iranians do an end run.
When the shite hits the fan, I hope these liberal Harvard /Yale Clintonista CIA political iconoclasts are covered with it. Meanwhile, Rome burns.
I consider them traitors.
