STATE OF THE UNION -- 2005 [Live Thread]
2/2/05
Posted on 02/02/2005 3:43:44 PM PST by Timeout
The pre-spin: Bush will spend about 1/2 the speech on foreign policy, 1/2 on domestic, with heavy emphasis on Social Security reform. It's said he will provide a detailed tutorial on the SS system and its problems with a few details on his personal accounts proposal.
Laura's guests are said to be an Afghan voter and an Iraqi voter (too bad there's no Ukrainian wearing an orange hat!).
Should we start a drinking game on how many times the pool camera swings to Hillary? Hmmm. Probably not...it would likely hamper out typing ability.
Word on the blogs has it that the closing part of the speech is a hum-dinger. Set your VCR's.
Report here on outrageous MediaCrat spin before AND after the SOTU. Pictures and screen caps welcome.

It will be interesting to see how Bush handles a speech full of numbers, projections and math. I thought that was his strong point. Or maybe it was just compared to Al Gore's fuzzy math anything makes sense.

Hehe, I LOVE it when they have those sour puss looks on their faces, and they have to sit on their hands and remain in their seats, because there is NO WAY they can give GWB any credit for ANYTHING!!!! Hehe, it is like watching the internal war going on, because they know their constituents are watching.
Here's to hoping the camera goes to the Dems early and often to show this!

Did you folks see that Pelosi intends to refer to our military as "occupiers?" Oh yes, and I recently posted the AP story of Al-Zawhiri saying the same thing.

Every time he gives a major speech, I wonder when we will ever hear about THIS again:
Probably not tonight. But I just know there will be a very poignant time when he will show us that badge again.

I have heard it said that GWB is a pretty good poker player.
I don't think he minds one bit being misunderestimated, plays into his hands.

"Special K"
I like it. :-)
To: TADSLOS
Here's hoping that President Bush holds up an ink stained index finger and points it at the Special K twins from MA. There's a senator that's going to - and urging others to. I'm gonna be watching for that.
We should all 'wear' an ink stained finger tomorrow wherever we go. Not say a word, just go quietly about our "business as usual' - with our Royal cobalt blue (blue/purple) fingers.
Any lefties get "offended" or give us lip - just smile, no discussion, and walk away.
I dare any boss to make an issue of it - far less prove it's a reprimand-able offense. ;o)
