Troxler Growing Frustrated With State Ag Controversy Troxler Asks Judge To Find Elections Board In Contempt Of Court POSTED: 3:56 pm EST January 31, 2005 RALEIGH, N.C. -- Most political races have a winner and a loser. Republican Challenger Steve Troxler leads the state agriculture commissioner race over Democrat Britt Cobb, but with more than 4,400 votes lost in Carteret County because of a voting machine malfunction, the race is still up in the air. . Attorneys for Troxler said they are losing patience. On Jan. 12, the judge overruled a decision by the State Board of Elections calling for a new statewide election, sending the issue back to the board to resolve.

OK, let me explain this for all the non NC FReepers out there. On Election Night, Steve TRoxler won Agriculture Commissioner by about 2000 votes. The next day it was discovered that about 4000 votes from a early voting poll in Carteret County had been lost. That means that the Democrats have been trying to steal the election ever since. ( Carteret County is a highly conservative county in NC)
