So was I...but couldn't make a "WHY?" connection until now. Common sense says she should have rested YESTERDAY for todays important Senate matter. After all, that's what her office requires. She's pulling a Kerry "no show"

Wish someone can confirm that she is not there.

Anyone else here feel uneasy about Gonzales as AG?

To the contrary, I am very pleased that this good, Constitutional revering and comprehending attorney has been nominated.

I wouldn't even mention the Democrats if I were him, except to say, "We've done it without you for four years, we don't need you now."

He is a gun grabber like the Dems

Just because he said he would uphold a law of this country doesn't make him a gun grabber.

Geez, you people find something to carp about about everybody!

But last night on Greta, she was saying the entire thing, including Michael, was WEIRD; he's like spaced out.

Whenever they show a view of the Senate chamber, it is usually empty, except for the speaker and about 5 others. Makes me wonder how much they 'work'.

Can't tell whether the scottsman is for or against is because his jewels are in a lockbox and he is afraid, very afraid.

Side note to update on the latest on Oil for Food.

Fox just reported that Kofi Annan never asked Paul Volcker to provide a financial disclosure form and then Jonathan Hunt read from the UN rules about who is required to do so and Volcker certainly fit in that category.

Not completely off-topic as Congress is doing their own investigations as is the *DOJ*.

(and predictable!)

We can probably "do" this entire thing ourselves, right here on this thread; we've certainly heard it enough.

Over many many years of watching court tv trials, and following many more that weren't televised, I've always considered Linda Deutsch beyond reproach as an excellent court/trial/legal reporter. When I pay no attention to the tv trial talkers, especially when they are big mouth glory hogs, when I over-dose on the showboaters, I note Linda Deutsch is never among them. She's strictly a print reporter, and I think, a fine one, very seldom is she seen on tv.

Ummm .. Diane .. Gonzales didn't write that memo

Plus .. it was done as an opinion of the LAW

Not a personal opinion of Gonzales

Ummmm .. BTW ... who is it that passes bills into law??

Can't agree with that. I had no problem with Ashcroft, although I didn't think he was tough enough, and Ashcroft wasn't a gun grabber.
