TERRI SCHINDLER SCHIAVO FEBRUARY DAILY THREAD 2005: TERRI IS OUR VALENTINE!
Free Republic and various sources | December 30, 2004, January 31, 2005 | Florida Voter

*Michael, HAVE A HEART !!!!!For Valentines Day give Terri back to her MOM & DAD, The Schindlers!!!!!!!!*

The Terri Schindler Schiavo Daily Threads are created month to month as we watch local and national news regarding Terri and her family.

Since Terri's supporters are in every time zone, you may see something FIRST. Please share news with us that you don't see here already. Now, why would you want to do that? Terri's Daily Thread for September/October of 2004 was viewed over 15,000 times. Terri's November Daily Thread was viewed over 6,000 times. December's thread is over 3,000 views. January 2005 Daily Thread was a RECORD HIGH!!!!!!! 15, 103 VIEWS!!!!!!

More and more good folks are finding out about Terri and that judicial tyranny would take her life, but for lots and lots of prayer and non-stop lobbying of relatives, friends, clergy, our leaders, the media, a passerby, a cashier - ANYONE who you feel comfortable chatting with.

Folks always want to know how can this be in America or on earth for that matter? Unfortunately, this is really happening to an innocent woman who just celebrated her 41st birthday. She's not the only one but she's the one with devoted parents and siblings who knows what's in Terri's heart. Terri has a strong will to live. That's apparent. It's been 14 years.

Besides, feeding tubes have been around practically since the Civil War. They are not high tech devices. Terri is "not hooked up to machines". Her feeding tube is the diameter of a piece of spaghetti.

Talkin' about Terri is the best way to lobby for her. It is a salespitch to save her life and subsequently, many lives. If you've never sold anything in your life, START NOW. START WITH TERRI.

See Terri's flash movies if you need more information. You can see for yourself that's she's interactive and follows the doctor's instructions.

Visit: http://www.terrisfight.org

NOTE: Terri's December Dailies are noted as a source above. There are lots of important links at the very top of that thread. If you missed Terri's Celebration of Life, you can click on it from there.

AGAIN WE HAVE A NEW RECORD: 15,103 views on the tote board for the Terri Schindler Schiavo January Daily Thread!

The most significant event in Terri's case in January, was the Supreme's Courts refusal to hear Governor Jeb Bush's appeal, after the Florida State Legislature struck down Terri's Law. This once again places Terri's life in extreme jeopardy, though there are other issues regarding her case before the court.

Most of the people to whom you are referring, in the words of the late "Sergeant Friday," just "do not know the facts" of this tragic case. And even if they did, they would not want to be "confused by the facts," as prejudiced people often don't say.

Where did the information about the 2nd DCA's decision come from? Their denial is not posted on their website.

The 2nd DCA posts information about issued written opinions and per curiam affirmances on their website (usually mid-morning on Wednesdays and Fridays). However, more routine actions, such as the court's granting or denial of motions, aren't "announced." That information is posted to the individual case dockets, which are searchable and accessible online here: Florida DCA Docket Search. This particular docket case number is 2D-04-4755. Just enter the case number and click on "submit."

Pinellas resident makes forum cut
By MICHAEL VAN SICKLER, Times Staff Writer
Published February 5, 2005

TAMPA - It's not every day that the White House calls Jim Browne to ask him what he thinks about key domestic issues.

So the 27-year-old Pinellas County tax assistant was just a little surprised when he got a call from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. on Thursday morning. On his cell phone.

"I don't know how they had that number, but they called me," Browne said.

Two women were on the other end.

"I didn't get their names," he said. "I heard White House and everything else kind of glazed over."

They wanted to know what the registered Republican thought of President Bush's State of the Union address from the previous night. Then they asked him what he thought about Social Security. Four probing phone calls later, Browne was invited to attend Bush's town hall meeting at the Tampa Convention Center on Friday afternoon.

Browne shared the stage with three other handpicked Floridians during a "discussion" with Bush about the future of Social Security before an invitation-only crowd, many of them employees of Raymond James. Tampa was the fifth and last stop on a two-day tour in which Bush held town hall meetings with screened audiences to promote an overhaul of the federal program.

Like the others who took the stage Friday, Browne was full of compliments.

"I'd like to say how much I appreciate you bringing up the subject of the future of Social Security," Browne told the president. "For many of my generation, we don't anticipate the system being there for us as it stands."

Bush stopped Browne. He looked at the audience.

"Hear what he said?" he said. "First of all, when I was 27 years old, I don't remember having a discussion with anybody about whether or not Social Security would be there. Any other baby boomers here remember talking about Social Security and its viability when we were 27? No. The dynamic has changed."

Bush and his administration say Social Security is veering toward a financial crisis. It needs to be phased out and replaced with private accounts managed by Wall Street. Browne and the others who spoke Friday reinforced that view.

"The thing I like about the proposed reforms to Social Security is that, just like I do on the 401(k), I can invest in the market where I get a better return, plus I can keep control of my finances just like I like it," said Carlos Huertas, a 46-year-old support engineer for PerkinElmer technology firm who lives in Riverview.

There were people who protested, but they weren't invited inside. More than 30 pickets were outside the auditorium carrying signs saying "Save Terri."

They were objecting to a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision not to take up the Florida Supreme Court's ruling that it was unconstitutional for the state to intervene in the Terri Schiavo case.

About 100 people who opposed Bush's effort to privatize Social Security were sent seven blocks away to Curtis Hixon Park by police to express their views.

"He's messing with this country's best federal program," said Grant Wilson, a 63-year-old Lutz homeowner. "There's no crisis. It should be left alone."

The president's motorcade did not pass these protesters.

As Browne got phone calls from friends and family members who saw him on TV with the president, he said he was happy to be part of the program.

"I think the whole idea of today was to have a bipartisan discussion," Browne said. "The president is open to ideas. That's the message I heard today."

None of the avenues to help Terri look all that promising. Would you rather we take an even less promising route and DO NOTHING?

Pro-Life Advocates Will Head to Florida if Terri Schiavo Threatened

by Steven Ertelt LifeNews.com Editor February 4, 2005

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Several pro-life groups say they plan to flood Florida with activists should a local judge set aside the stay that is in place prohibiting Terri Schiavo's estranged husband from starving her to death. Judge George Greer could decide as early as Monday whether to lift the stay.

Should he do that, the pro-life groups will bring "scores of people" to the state to "pray, lobby and peacefully intervene on Terri's behalf."

Organizers don't say what kind of specific actions they will take to protect Terri, but they hope the combined campaign will place a renewed focus on the disabled woman's plight.

"This campaign will shine a spotlight on the barbaric manner in which Terri is being treated and hopefully shock the conscience of our nation so it never happens again," says Dr. Gary Cass, executive director of Reclaiming America.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, said he hoped "people will come to Florida from across the nation to save Terri's life and work to ensure that no one will have to endure this kind of punishment and torture again."

Attorneys for Bob and Mary Schindler argued in a hearing late last month that Terri should have had her own attorney during the decade-long legal battle they have been fighting with her estranged husband Michael, who wants to starve her to death.

Schindler attorney David Gibbs argues that the court decision allowing Michael to end her life should be reversed.

Judge Greer has given Gibbs until Monday to submit further written evidence supporting his arguments.

Some of the pro-life groups participating in the combined effort want to make sure other people don't find themselves in a similar situation.

"If Terri's feeding tube is removed she will die and agonizing death by dehydration and starvation that will set precedent leading to the forced death of other disabled individuals, thereby eroding the sanctity of all human life," adds Dana Cody, executive director of Life Legal Defense Foundation.

Cody's group has provided significant funding to Terri's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, to help cover the costs of their mounting legal bills in their efforts to save their daughter's life.

"Terri, and all those who are in similar condition, deserve compassion and mercy. Not punishment and violence," the Rev. Rob Schenck, president of the National Clergy Council, added.

Other groups participating in the effort include Operation Rescue and Generation Life.

If anything major breaks re: Terri, I will ping my gargantuan ping list even though I am "on vacation".

Last word: BOYCOTT FLORIDA, BOYCOTT PINELLAS COUNTY.

No Tourists for you, you MEAN STATE! MEAN COUNTY! You can find a listing on line for all the cities and beach towns in Pinellas County. (they really NEED YOUR BUSINESS. THE AIRPORT OVER HERE LOST 2 or 3 carriers since last year.)

It won't work unless you call these cities and inform them of the boycott. duh!

Back to vacation mode.

Jeb Bush should use his Catholic and christian faith, as well as his governorship, as a reason to come to her assistance once more.

Terri is our sister in the Catholic faith. I am going to remind his office of that when I call !

No, I am saying I don't see anything that would work to save Terri. People protested the murder of Nancy Cruzan in St. Louis in 1990 (?), and it made no difference after her father (who later commited suicide) demanded her death. FL is too arrogant as a state to be fearful of a boycott, I would think.

But you recall that the only Catholic president, JFK, made a point of saying in Houston in 1960 that never would his "faith" interfere with his "duties" as chief executive. What kind of faith was that anyway? Jeb can just say that he is "personally opposed" to starving and dehydrating Terri, but the limitations of his office forbid him from intervening. And I suspect that is what he will do.

I think they are trying to insulate and protect Judge Greer against any future lawsuits or criminal actions.

It is hard to understand why so many in FL rally to the cause of the blind (physically and spiritually) George W. Greer.

I am saying we all understand the odds, and don't need to be constantly reminded of them AND regardless of the seeming hopelessness and futility of the circumstances, we can't sit back and do nothing.

Bush has the authority of his office to remove Greer:

The question is, why then won't he?
