The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

WASHINGTON -- Mosques across the U.S. continue to carry books and pamphlets describing non-Muslims as "infidels" and promoting intolerance against Western society, according to a forthcoming study by Freedom House, a U.S. human-rights group.

Despite vows from American Islamic leaders after Sept. 11, 2001, to proselytize peacefully, New York based Freedom House researchers found 57 documents with incendiary material in more than a dozen mosques and Islamic centers in six states and Washington, D.C., visited over the past year.

THREE BODIES FOUND IN BELLEVILLE BUSINESS

Three bodies have been found Wednesday morning inside a west Belleville business. Belleville police and Illinois State Police investigators are on the scene. Police are releasing few details at this time. The business is located on West Main near 79th Street in Belleville. Stay tuned to FOX 2 News for the latest developments.

I literally had a route to drive through the back country to check for any hotspots. Amateur radio provided a means of directly alerting the forestry and fire officials to jump on a problem while it was small.

New Mercury Spill Reported At Cardozo (Wash. D.C. School - Mercury Spill also last Wednesday - 3/2/05) POSTED: 11:32 am EST March 2, 2005 UPDATED: 12:32 pm EST March 2, 2005

WASHINGTON -- Authorities said Wednesday that there has been another apparent mercury spill at Cardozo High School.

D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Alan Etter said the discovery was made late Wednesday morning on the third floor of the school at 1300 Clifton Place, N.W. He said readings taken in the third-floor area were high for mercury vapor, but he couldn't say how much of the chemical was spilled.

Hazmat crews are now at the scene, but Etter said the school is not being evacuated. He said there were no readings on other floors..

Indonesian prosecutors and Western governments accuse Bashir of heading the al-Qaida-linked group that was blamed for the 2002 Bali bombings and other terrorist attacks. The cleric says he is innocent and denounces the allegations as a plot by Washington to silence his campaign for Islamic law..

Van containing anthrax samples involved in accident

WINNIPEG - A hazardous materials team rushed to the scene when a van delivering packages to Winnipeg's virology lab was involved in an accident this morning.

The FedEx van was struck in the side by another vehicle just before 8:30 while it was travelling in the central part of the city.

The area was blocked off for about two hours as a precaution because it was not known if any of the packages had been disturbed.

Emergency services spokesman Gordon Martin says a special team determined that none of the containers had been broken.

Martin says the situation is stable and there is no biological or chemical hazard.

However, CBC Radio is reporting the lab confirms there was an anthrax sample in the van.

No one was injured in the accident.

San Diego is coastal desert. Pocatello is high mountain desert. Both areas are subject to red flag alerts. They usually happen in the summer. Somewhat unusual to see them this time of year.
