WASHINGTON -- Authorities said Wednesday that there has been another apparent mercury spill at Cardozo High School.
D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Alan Etter said the discovery was made late Wednesday morning on the third floor of the school at 1300 Clifton Place, N.W. He said readings taken in the third-floor area were high for mercury vapor, but he couldn't say how much of the chemical was spilled.
Hazmat crews are now at the scene, but Etter said the school is not being evacuated. He said there were no readings on other floors..
