Guess we'll have to wait for the Clinton's favorite general. Probably picking up his turtleneck and tweed jacket from the cleaners.

Here that sound? It is the sound of 50 million Iranians stomping their feet and demanding their freedom!

Let's hope that the voting goes smoothly in the province of Floridiastan. Can you just imagine what the scene would look like if a hand recount of the votes were required........

The man is weeping because he can cast a vote in a real election for Iraq.

This election will encourage the various royal despots in the peninsula to give democracy a try (for those who haven't; Kuwait and Qatar I think have made some steps; Jordan's monarch has some kind of elected body).

And Iran, well, heh heh...

I remember when the wall went up when I was a teenager and it terrified me. And I also cried when it came down.

Why do so many of us feel so strongly about the same things? I have no answer.

It truly is as exciting, even though I don't have a clue who is running, or who to root for--

Not totally being facetious, I hope that Allawi is voted in. And I heard that Sistani is on the ballot for something.

I think those 2 are the most important people that I know I want to see win.

That is hilarious. Thank God Al Gore and Michael Moore won't be anywhere near Iraqi polling stations.

Oh no, please tell me we're not going to have exit polls!!!!

NO!!!! But, you can be sure, at this election, the MSM is NOT on the side of the people, but the terrorists to keep the people away from voting! The MSM doesn't want every vote to count at this election.

IIRC they are just voting on the representative that will write their constitution and determine what offices etc will be elected.....No actual national office holder elected at this time....The Kurd already have a parliament and are electing to it....There may be some local, mayors etc am not sure on that one.

I'm in the same boat....I just said earlier tonight...I don't even know who's running or if they have a "platform." Then I laughed thinking, when have I ever concerned myself with another country's elections, or who all was running, or what their platforms were! I just think we want so much for the best for these people, so that all our military has done, the lives lost, isn't in vain.

The first election in Afghanistan in its history; the first free election in Iraq in 50 years.

Freedom....brought to the world courtesy of the U.S.A.

Damn, I'm feeling mighty proud.

Reuters need to venture into SE Michigan... specifically Dearborn and the Chaldean community in Highland Park.

The emotion is raw. The couple I mentioned earlier said after they cast their vote it hit them.

They had voted.
